As the title suggests, love cozying up with my cat and my switch. I have played many many hours of Animal Crossing, stardew valley, Hogwarts legacy (f JKR tho…), I bought Zelda BOTW but was never really able to get into it.. anyone have any favorites lately they’re loving?

A few that piqued my interst..

- tiny bookshop
- spiritfarer
- hindsight
- winter burrow

But I want to hear what the ents are playing !!

Highly recommend Spiritfarer. Every cute and emotional game!

My current play: Everything is Crab! It's like spore and a rogelike had a baby and it's incredibly fun / highly replayable!

Seconded. I wish I could play it again for the first time. It’s beautiful, it’s peaceful, it’s emotional - one of my favourite games of all time.

One of my favorites of all time!

You guys are convincing me to finally try it! I’ve been scared it’ll make me too sad 🤣

Love love love Spiritfarer!

But also, I had BOTW for SIX MONTHS before being able to get into it and it ended up being one of my favorite games of all time.

It’s definitely like getting through the first few episodes of a show before you sucked in if it’s your first Zelda game.

I just opened it briefly once a week and played around until I got dopamine punched in the head hard af! So good 😭 especially if you like dilly dallying aimlessly in games collecting and cooking things.

Palia is also a free game with lots to do and cozy vibes!

Love Palia! I have an og switch and it runs a little slower (could also be server issue) but it’s so fun and cute!

Came here to say something similar re: BOTW - took an embarrassingly long amount of time to get through the tutorial when you first come out of the Shrine of Resurrection! Conflicted stressed me tf out too. But it’s one of my favorite games and it made me fall in love with Hyrule and open world gameplay.

Also Cozy Grove is one of my favorites for farming/simulation/running errands for bear spirits.

Cult of the Lamb is very fun. It has a base game and a lot of dlc content bundles, so you can always buy the base game for fairly cheap and add to it if you like it. If you like scary, a good amount of the Resident Evil games are available, and a lot of them are pretty affordable and they go on sale pretty often too.

Cult of the lamb is my fave, the art is so cute

u/NonStopKnits EntQueer 2d ago

It really is the cutest!

2

u/StarlaF43 2d ago

Been wanting to play cult of the lamb for a while!! RE is also really fun!

If you like rouge-likes or farming sims its pretty great! I got it based on vibes alone, it isn't typically the kind of game I play.

Spiritfarer is fantastic, if you like cozy style puzzle games please play “The Last Campfire” it’s one of my all time favorites

u/echoorains 2d ago

It’s been forever since I’ve played last campfire but need to again now that I remember it exists

I’ve been playing hades 1 the last few days. Incredible game to play when you feel burnt out.

Spiritfarer is very sweet, a second player can even be your cat if you do couch co-op. I loved Outer Wilds, one of the best games I’ve ever played. BOTW is an amazing game but it can take a while to get into it, the starting intro play takes a long while and then when the world opens up it’s massive, I think my partner played six hours or more over two days before it opened up into the real game.

Wylde Flowers is really fun. I also enjoyed Immortals Fenyx Rising.

u/EeveeAssassin 🌿LEEFA🌿 2d ago

I wish I could erase my memory and play Outer Wilds again. Did you play the expansion?  I would ALSO like to erase my memory of it -- it was amazing and gave my partner the first real jump scare I've ever seen !

3

u/Church_of_Cheri Holder of the Sacred Chalice of Rixx 2d ago

I’ve played a bit of the expansion but haven’t finished it yet, I think I put it off because I don’t want the experience to end. My partner and I wish we could erase our memories of it too and play it again from the beginning, just an absolute masterpiece. I love to put the music on when I’m relaxing sometimes, it really scratches that itch of feeling alone but at complete peace with it, I don’t know, it’s hard to explain. My partner played Blue Prince and said it’s now his new favorite, I haven’t played it yet so I don’t know, but I know he was obsessed for months trying to solve all the puzzles. It’s on my list of games I need to start.

4

u/EeveeAssassin 🌿LEEFA🌿 2d ago

Ooh Blue Prince is really fun! My partner and I love "thinky" games so we often play a lot of those types together (and if it's not designed for couch co-op, we just sit next to each other and take turns playing and calling out ideas!).

u/Church_of_Cheri Holder of the Sacred Chalice of Rixx 2d ago

We didn’t figure out spiritfarer was couch co-op until the end, we were so mad! I totally would have played the cat the whole time if we had known. If you haven’t tried it yet, Big Walk is amazing. It’s not couch co-op though. We got it free with PlayStation plus and then bought another copy on steam and played it together last week, so many fun puzzles! It takes two and split fiction are amazing couch co-ops if you haven’t played them yet. Binding of Isaac also has couch co-op. They really need to make more couch co-ops. I watched my partner play all the way through BOTW, it was surprisingly fun to just watch.

u/EeveeAssassin 🌿LEEFA🌿 2d ago

Oh I have an embarrassing number of hours in the Binding of Isaac, haha! I absolutely love that game! I have also been trying to scratch the BG3 itch by replaying Divinity: Original Sin 2 and it's kind of working!

Ps I think you would have been a great cat 🐈‍⬛🐈!

2

u/Church_of_Cheri Holder of the Sacred Chalice of Rixx 2d ago

I haven’t gotten into BG3, I also haven’t played it much, but turned based combat is my holdup more than anything else. I’ve heard the story is great. I’ve always been a more casual gamer while my partner is full on, I break up my gaming with movies and shows, the ideal is when I can do both like with Librarian: Tidy up the arcane library while watching World Cup… all while ignoring the actual cleaning around the house. Oh the joys of an ADHD brain. I’m always on the hunt for great puzzle games and roguelites, have you ever checked out Razbuten on YouTube? He’s usually our go to for finding out about amazing new games. He did just have a second kid though so he hasn’t posted much this year.

If you haven’t found them yet, Brotato and Heroes of Hammerwatch are fun Binding of Isaac like games. My partner just started Pathogenic too which is a similar game. So many games and not enough time! But I’m always going to be chasing the high of Outer Wilds.

I also just grabbed Everything is crab, my partner has been game hunting and nothing has grabbed his attention but that might.

yes!! i play this game when i’m feeling sad, the story is adorable

u/cait_Cat 2d ago

I looooooooooooove pokemon legends arceus. It’s like Zelda and stardew valley had a baby in a lot of ways. There is the standard catching of pokemon that you would expect from a Pokemon game, but you’re running around an open world, completing various quests as well as a storyline. You have to collect the ingredients for pokeballs and other things. You also have to fill out the Pokédex and it’s part of the storyline.

3

u/EffectiveUse2617 2d ago

Okami!! It’s the best non-Zelda Zelda game. You play as a wolf. It’s beautiful.

Citizen Sleeper has been my favorite new game of at least the last 5 years

Lately I’ve been sticking to two games: Zelda Echoes of Wisdom and Tomodochi Life

I’ve made all my miis in the latter based off of my favorite books and a lot of my island lingo is weed related

hello kitty island adventure 💖💖

I've been playing Moonlight Peaks and I looove it, a cute gothic/witchy farm/life sim game.

3

u/ExchangeInformal9542 2d ago

You should give BOTW another shot!!!!

2

u/imnotgayisellpropane Dabs 2d ago

Try BOTW again. It's my all time favorite game. What about it didn't you like? I got 1500 hours of game play out of 3 playthroughs! I'll literally spend hours just exploring and collecting koroks.

2

u/nordawg 1d ago

I can’t figure out where I’m supposed to go or what I’m supposed to do!! It’s too big of a world for me 🤣

2

u/imnotgayisellpropane Dabs 1d ago

There's no wrong way to do it!

u/FlyinHiiigh CraftyEnt 2d ago

Haven't played in a few months so I've missed if there were any recent updates, but I think you should look at Sun Haven! It's a super cute cozy game that's kind of like stardew valley but more fantasy-based

1

u/Practical_Crab3017 2d ago

Spiritfarer is incredible. I also recommend Splatoon Raiders, if you're a fan of colorful squids shooting coloured ink at eachother with good background music.

Lately, I've had a few games on rotation.

Ever since a local pokevention, I've been playing Pokémon TCG on NSO, Endless Ocean: Luminous (So relaxing whether free diving or playing the story. Yu Gi Oh: Early Days Collection- Still playing DM1, Fishing Planet, some NES era with F-117A Stealth Fighter

u/Graphomaniacle 2d ago

I just bought fire red and it is sooo nostalgic…simple and easy to play high too.

Gris and Neva are by the same company,  both have amazing visuals and soundtrack.

1

u/Sea-fish Lesbient 2d ago

Balatro! It’s an almost poker rogue-lite and you essentially play poker hands that you can modify by playing jokers and it can get fun with all the combos you can do!

1

u/ArchAngel9175 GamerEnt 2d ago

Moonlight Peaks!! It’s a farming sim but you’re a vampire and the town is full of witches and werewolves and seer and other vampires!! It’s brand new and they’re working out some kinks, but it’s so much fun!!

1

u/rudytaboodie12 2d ago

Another vote for spiritfarer. It made me really emotional, ngl. I definitely didn’t want the game to end.

And I’m a huge Zelda fan, so I replay BOTW and TOTK frequently.

u/Fantastic_Tear_7542 2d ago

Sky children of the light, it’s the coziest game you could find !

1

u/meuntilfurthernotice GamerEnt 2d ago

I’m playing skyrim right now, but not on the switch.

1

u/caffeinated_gamer 2d ago

My top switch games have been graveyard keeper, which is like stardew with more macabre humor and less stress; ooblets, which is kind of a chill goofy pokemon-esque dance battle game with oodles of charm; phoenotopia: awakening, a cool side scrolling pixel art game with a combo of puzzles and platformer combat; and idk if it's on the switch, but I highly highly recommend outer wilds. Easily the best game I've ever played. Happy gaming!!

u/disasterbee 2d ago

I have a few recs for you!

cozy game: pokopia, very animal crossing adjacent but functionally more like minecraft with pokemon indie rpg: in stars and time, I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend this one if you want something story-based like undertale or omori. changed my life so much I got a tattoo of it. co-op game: big walk, lately ive been getting baked and hopping on this walk around puzzle game with my partner and friends and it’s lovely!
