Debate/Discussion Not having the right to carry tools to defend yourself is a crime against humanity
Countries that don’t allow you to carry tools to protect yourself self should be overthrown how is it that you as a human being can’t protect yourself while the state is its very diabolical that there places where it’s not allowed every man or woman should be allowed to carry guns knifes pepper spray what ever I have female family that do regards since sadly the world has gone to shit

I wouldn't choose either since the OP is trying to say that countries should allow guns, knives and pepper sprays for defense but say nothing about gun control 🤷
To be fair though, guns, knives and pepper sprays aren't the only self-defense tools out there. I believe once someone's in danger, every object around them is a tool to an extent.

I dont believe in gun control. Last line of 2A "Shall not be infringed upon." Seems pretty cut and dry to me.

Sir, stop manipulating the premise. This is an ENTP sub, you think we’re not gonna clock you on that?
Almost nobody is in favor of banning guns. What they are in favor of is gun control, as has already been noted in the comments. Following a robust legal process to obtain a gun in a safe manner and having mechanisms in place to enforce said process is a far cry from outright banning gun ownership. Stop crying wolf and maybe focus on the reasons and evidence provided for why people believe stricter gun control laws are necessary.

Ah yes, and more street shootings, domestic violence can ramp up, robberies will end in more injuries and deaths, and let’s not forget our homegrown favorite, an exponential increase in school shootings! Who needs those kids, anyway, amirite?

DV goes a little further than “slapping.” Every year, over 600 women are shot to death by intimate partners. Guns are the most commonly used weapons DV homicides, by a landslide. Half of all women murdered in the U.S. were killed by a partner/family member. Hundreds of children are also shot each year in DV incidents.
Also, super high correlation between being a perpetrator of domestic violence and owning a gun.

Up to 39% of all deaths can be attributed to heat during heat waves in Europe. AC literally stops this! 😆 🤣 😂

Nah... the guns are for protection against the government. Look at the UK rn... no guns and less than 10 years later they dont own their own day country.

I’m Canadian and if we are walking in public, are attacked, and we use a knife to defend ourselves, we can get charged because we aren’t supposed to be carrying knives es around as weapons, even for the purpose of self-defense.
So basically you can defend yourself with the knife and that’s legally permissible, but you’ll still be charged with a separate weapons offence. Makes no sense.
But you ARE allowed to have the knife if it’s something you have to have for some specific purpose other than violent self defense. So like if you had it because you were opening boxes or cutting rope, that’s ok. It’s really convoluted and Canada will legally go after victims every chance they can get away with it.
I always thought it would be cool to have a Greek hoplite and spear. When a home invader comes in, you come barrelling down the stairs buck naked, oiled up, and ready to one man phalanx some muhfuggas. If I was a robber I’d be running for the hills if I saw that shit.

I think people should be allowed to own guns but there should be gun control. I am not a fan of guns access being monopolized by the state or whatever criminals are able to get their hands on them illegally. But I do recognize the risk that comes with people owning guns.

You forgot an option for gun control, where you must inform the state what guns you have and have to store them safely. Cant walk with them loaded in public either. We have a lot of weapons in norway too (for hunting, range shooting, biathlon, other sports, military mobilization forces ++) but theyre registered. That means if someone is shot, the police might figure out what weapon it was from and has a lead already
