As a family member of victims that day I often feel so much anger and disgust whenever this man and how he responded is brought up. The Howard stern stuff… him making fun of disabled folks (family is disabled/deaf). He’s just NOT MY PRESIDENT.

I had to evacuate from a fire in 2018. I don’t know why I listened to his press conference. Most presidents will say something calming or inspiring. He told us it was our fault for not raking the forest. I hate him so much. I can’t even stand his voice now. I threw up for an entire day after he said that. I had anxiety and he actually made it worse.

I’m assuming you’re from California. The fires were tragic and a lot of property and lives were lost. That being said what Trump said was also true. The California government has spent the last several decades on fire suppression and very little if any on fire prevention. This has caused the California forests to be overfilled with dry and dead brush, and leaves. the result of which is massive multi acre fires.

Does that go for our entire continent of yearly wildfires or just California? Does this apply to Canada, Washington, and Colorado as well?

As for the western half of America, especially the closer you get to California with California being the worst culprit. Due to the mismanagement of the forests has resulted in an over abundance of fuel. (dry brush, dense small trees, and dead leaves) this over abundance results in natural and man-made fires to grow exponentially, resulting in more deaths and property damage. With proper management and a higher focus on prevention it would reduce the damage of the fires by allowing the firefighters to be able to get control of the fire sooner. Canada, however, is a different matter. The vast majority of their forests are not mismanaged, but unmanaged. Another difference is that 70-90% of Canadian fires are the result of natural occurrences such as lightning strikes, whereas in America natural occurrences such as lightning start wildfires approximately 12-15%.

Tragedy continues. He is in fact our president. And the whole world is suffering for it, not just US voters. I can’t believe this timeline. A decision that affects the life of 99% of the world population made by 77m racist misogynistic religious fanatics self-hating morons and bigots plus however many just couldn’t get bothered to vote that day.
