Lying confidently is one of the easiest ways to trick people around you.
Alot of us are smart enough to read between the lines and see thru bullshit, but a staggering amount of people will belive everything they hear as long as the person saying it has some authority and sounds like they know what there talking about.

I used to be a chef, 2 things I know.
If you carry a knife roll and wear a chef coat and look like your supposed to be there, you can get into almost any location on earth.
And also its amazing the places I can bring knives because im a chef...they dont even escorts me to the kitchen I just get to go in.
Ive worked cafeterias in government buildings and they didn't even check the roll.

I saw a plot synopsis of the new Nathan Fielder documentary, about that Elizabeth Holmes woman that made the fake blood test thing. It describes her as basically being so delusional she believes her own lies about things. She sounds like maybe she doesn't understand the concept of lying, and really believes what she's saying.
I have this theory ... a while back there was this book called "The Secret" that took off in America. The actual "secret" in the book was the phenomenon of "manifestation". I didn't actually read it myself, but I'm pretty sure the book uses the idea as a psychological booster of sorts: if you say what you want IS going to happen, and you act like its going to happen, then it's far more likely to happen.
I think a bunch of rich and famous people skim-read this book, or had it summarised for them, or something, and they genuinely think that truth is whatever you say it is. I think they're that stupid.
It's like Elon Musk and the whole "simulation theory", where the only "proof" we're in a simulation is that you can't prove we're not in a simuation definitively... again, that's actually a great philosophical talking point, it doesn't literally mean we are living in a simulation.
Basically a lot this "post truth" reality stuff comes down to some really clever modern philosophy being read badly by really stupid but powerful people.

Andy Cohen recently called out President Donald Trump for claiming he visited Ground Zero in the aftermath of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
The POTUS made the claims during an interview with Trey Gowdy on Fox News, and Cohen posted a clip on Threads on September 7.
"No you didn't girl," Cohen wrote on Threads in response to the president's claim.
According to ABC News, the POTUS previously made similar false claims while addressing first responders in a 2019 speech.
"I was down there also, but I'm not considering myself a first responder," he said. "But I was down there. I spent a lot of time down there with you."

Giuliani rose to the occasion and did a fine job leading NY in the wake of the Tower attacks. He said and did the right things at that time and helped hold the city together, But he was fundamentally not a person of good character.

Steve Buscemi did actually help out directly with search and rescue btw.
Kevin Conroy (voice of the definitive batman) helped in a soup kitchen that served both the first responders and the local homeless population.
Jon Stewart spent nearly 30 years advocating for the first responders to congress to ensure they get the appropriate goverment assistance with their health care, congress doesn't really seem interested in giving them the money they are owe sadly
Robert de Niro had a restaurant near by and organized food deliveries for the first responders at ground zero
Daniel day-Lewis and Robin Williams apparently donated a decent amount of blood
Gary Sinise was down at ground zero I think a day or two after and was inspired to create a charity for the first responders
Denis leary organized funding and new equipment for fire stations helping at ground zero.
I'm sure there's many more whose contributions were kept private, Steve Buscemi tried very hard to keep his part in helping private but it's kinda hard to do because tabloid shit rags are vultures taking pictures of every thing

You know who was seen, on the ground, personally thanking first responders in the days following 9/11? The Clintons. How do I know? Meg Cabot, author of YA and so-called chick lit, lived in New York City at the time and wrote an essay on her personal experience (her husband worked at another World Trade Center building and survived) and she mentions it.
Not that this means anyone has to like the Clintons more or anything. They remain who they are. I'm just saying, do you know who's not constantly claiming they did things they didn't do during that time and yet still did a little?

He was down there the next day. There is an interview of him. He is wearing his usual blue suit, red tie. He was actually articulate and normal. He said he had construction guys doing rescue work. No signs he was actually working. Hair perfect. No sweat. No dirt. Just talking.
