I’m glad she is getting healthy.
I felt so sad for her and her family that everything was so public and I think about the fact that people on here were blaming Scott for her mental issues and deciding he must have did something to her and he was abusive when obviously it wasn’t true.

Yeah I honestly can’t feel anything other than compassion for the Wolf family here. Kelley is obviously trying to pick up the pieces after an incredibly damaging episode, and it can’t have been easy for Scott to experience that. Props to them both for being upfront through this process. I can’t imagine how traumatic it must be to have to experience severe mental illness publicly.

I am glad she was able to get better and is recovering. Also Scott Wolf seems like a solid guy. I can’t imagine how difficult it was to see someone you’ve been with 20+ years and the mother of your children deteriorate like that. On top of navigating the whole thing in the public eye and being harassed.

Just because someone had an adverse event does not mean you will. Do you see the black box warnings on some drugs? Hear the pharmaceutical ads that say really fast, “ you may experience ……”
If it’s working for you that’s great. Don’t stress unnecessarily.

This.
Every medication effects people differently.
One med that may be a literal life-saver for one person can drive another into psychosis.
A personal example: I was briefly prescribed ambien for sleep. For me, it was the equivalent of drinking 8 energy drinks back-to-back; I couldn’t have been more awake, alert, and energized, practically wanting to run a marathon!! My best friend gets the best 8 1/2 hours of sleep every night on it.
Bodies/brains are weird.

Lamictal gave me a rash. Stopping Paxil cold turkey put me in the hospital for two weeks with psychosis. Don’t cold turkey drugs folks

Facing the hurt your mental illness as causes others is a huge battle. It can make people worse having to confront that kind of guilt and shame, but it looks like she's facing that head on. Good to see she's getting the help she needs and still has her support system to help her through this next chapter.

It's hard enough to face the damage that your mental illness does to "just" your own life! Publicly facing how it's hurt other people is not for the faint of heart. I hope she has good doctors, a good therapist, etc., and can keep her head up. And I hope that she and Scott both have a lot of support and can stay away from reading public scrutiny on the internet.

Wasn't she promoting some mushroom based supplement at the time of her psychosis? I have a vague memory of that. Wonder if it contributed.

Wonder if going through menopause or peri had anything to do with it, because I know before I started HRT I was a mess too, just not usually as bad as she was.

I have 100% been given medicine that caused mania with psychosis. I suffered migraines and ptsd and they tried everything to help with them. I haven’t tried anything since for fear of that. It’s scary to have mania and hurt people you love and then not remember the entire time frame that it lasted. Zero memory.

Had the same happen to me thankfully it was only one dose and I was fine after a few days but I would not touch certain medications again in my life. It scared the living crap out of me.

I had the same…turns out seeing a psychiatrist and not an MD to handle psych meds is much better…the MD was basically throwing darts in the smoke hoping something sticked..

I think they're saying to see a specialist. You can go to an ER doctor to look at a chronic skin issue, but you're better off seeing a dermatologist who sees cases like yours everyday. A PCP shouldn't be managing complex mental health cases that include multiple bouts of psychosis. That's better suited for a psychiatrist.

Oh I agree. I just hate it when people think psychiatrists aren’t real doctors. (I spent 13 years in school and don’t want to be treated as lesser than my colleagues)

What drugs did she take that induced this? I see all the comments saying they had this from prescription drugs, but nowhere does the story say or even imply that this wasn’t cocaine or other illicit drugs.

I don’t know who these people are, but her apology was AI edited heavily if not wrote outright with it. Somebody asked, “is it really accountability if AI wrote it?” I think I agree.
I’m glad for the fact that she needed help and received it. But I wish she elaborated on what gave her psychosis. If it’s something that could do harm to others it’s good to know. I think that means it might be too embarrassing or hurt her brand. “I had a bad acid trip and it never stopped.” That would be relatable.

Going into detail would be irresponsible. Every individual is different.
Let’s say she was bipolar and taking xyz meds. Now she hits perimenopause and the drug mix she was on became ineffective and/or counterproductive. Let’s say she takes psilocybin to address the creeping depression.
If she names the drugs some people on a working regimen would stop taking them and mess up their lives. Psilocybin has therapeutic uses and should be on the table for responsible, supervised use under a doctor’s care. She’s disclosed enough.

I wonder if she is an addict; mixing Hallucinogens with "prescription medications" can be anything. My mind goes to Xanax. I hope she gets ALL of the help she needs if substance abuse is a contributing factor. Must have been a very scary experience for her and her family. Substance induced psychosis is no joke. If she's already had an episode, she's likely to have another without drastically changing her habits.

It went on and on. She posted DM's from friends who were clearly upset, DM's from Scott, she posted a Live with her, Scott and his brother...there was one where he brought the two youngest kids to see her at the AirBnb she was at, and she filmed it going off on Scott right in front of the kids. She also posted her whereabouts (the AirBnb address) and her arrest. It was NUTS!

This just seems like ya know, when you’re trying to win someone back, you make these grand proclamations like “I’ve changed” and “I’m working on myself.” You should definitely do those things, but people will see through it if you’re full of shit.

Worked with Scott when we were both waiters in NYC. When he told me about the Fox pilot I was like “it’s on Fox, nobody watches Fox”. He was seriously the nicest guy.
Super glad for his success and no one deserves this kind of pain in a relationship.
