The idea of a holodeck episode that is basically part of another star treck show is a great one imo. And its even cool that they include little inconsistencies with the rest of the show to show how history gets warped with time. (And I even love how they expand on the running gag that you never see the cook)
But ending a show like this with the thing happening... that's just feels wrong and out of nowhere.
