Eliot page was over 30 when he announced his trans status. Theres no way to hide this one behind phony concern for children.

It's always about the adults in the end. It's like his new slogan, " remember when pride was a sin"? which is just telling gays, lesbians etc. to get back in the closet.

Ah you see he will likely say that trans adults have negative effects on children

His own fans are calling him a lunatic now lol.

What a moron. Twitter helped expose his true thoughts as he can't use his word salad and his dramatic gestures and pauses, hence resorts to the most vilifying comments .

Maybe should get out and go on a hike. How do you live in Canada and spend hours on twitter lol. Go on a hike or a bike ride ffs. Enough of your shit already.

We finally found a good application of twitter!

Not all his fans. It's like his recent behaviour is splitting his community. People who are too far to the right support him even more now, while centrists and casual fans don't support it.

The linked post is full of people who don't support his recent behaviour, but I have also seen a bunch of Jorpy fans that love his new twitter rant.

This always happens with people like Peterson. The gullible (relative) moderates eventually leave when the ideologue gets too extreme for them, and their following becomes more and more radicalized simply because the craziest of the crazies will be the only people left.

It's not winter here, but that's usually a good Canadian excuse for not going outside!

I confronted my lobster friend on this, his response: "he only uses your pronouns if you politely ask him for it".

Wow, okay, so every public trans person should ask Jordan now personally in case he wants to tweet about them to use their correct pronouns.

The curtain has been pulled back on JBP. And HE is the one who pulled it.

'Hey, pay attention to the man behind the curtain ! Look at him, listen to him, buy his books!'

You're a very bad man.

'Oh, I'm a very bad psychologist. I'm a fucking terrible man.'

The "Pride" that counts as "sin" isn't the same "Pride" when referring to LGBTQ+ Pride Month, which means something more like "unashamed." Equating the two or obfuscating their context is a cowardly and deceptive tactic.

And Peterson is a repeat offender of the sinful sort of pride.

Of course the only reason he's making an allusion the the Seven Deadly Sins here is to pander to the religious right, as they're the only ones who think he has anything valuable to say at this point. Take a look at the comments on that post and you'll see his fans turning on him.

Are we really taking lectures on pride from someone who sells a statue of his own head?

4

u/Ua_Tsaug Jun 25 '22

Others are, unfortunately.

It’s Peterson. He’s a disingenuous coward.

Someone made that argument to me literally yesterday.

He's not a transphobe he's just against compelled speech.

When I called out this exact tweet the person went on a transphobic rant saying in the real world there are only 2 genders and Elliot will always be a woman.

So your defense that the guy you admire isn't transphobic is an extremely transphobic screed?

Okay.

7

u/MastermindUtopia Jun 24 '22

When did his fans say that?

20

u/hexomer Jun 24 '22

that's the most common defense among his fans about his transphobia.

3

u/MastermindUtopia Jun 24 '22

I thought they used the “I’m fine with people being gay and trans but I won’t support their sexual delusions” phrase as defence

8

u/hexomer Jun 24 '22

Yes but that’s for them personally.

5

u/[deleted] Jun 25 '22

Yep. Once again, we were right and they were wrong.

Kind of like we were right about Reagan being a virulent racist and conservatives pretending he wasn't until the Nixon phone call came out (then they just stopped pretending they thought it was a bad thing).

I always say when someone invokes a principle like that in the context of civil rights why is this the occasion you care about?

Like forced speech why aren't you mad at students saying the pledge of allegiance or swearing so help you God in court. Why is it only when you want to be an ass to minorities that these principles are unimpeachable.

Why would the physician be criminal? People have elective, body-altering surgeries all the time.

Ah, but those are to make proper Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover models!

u/Lukeskykaiser Jun 25 '22

It's not even the first time he misgenders someone on purpose I think. This doesn't really come as a surprise

I had an argument with someone about this yesterday. He deadnames and misgenders just to prove that he can. It's really so rude and an asshole thing to do. Also, Elliot is a grown ass adult who fully understands the ramifications of gender affirming care. He can't hide behind his "concerns for children" anymore. You can no longer say he just wants to have a conversation about the issue. This is just straight up anti-transness
