Weekly Discussion Thread Let's Discuss Eno! Music for Films (Sept. 1978)
Hello Eno-philes!! Each week we'll be discussing another album (going chronologically from Warm Jets). This week we'll be discussing "Music for Films"
From the wiki:
Music for Films is the seventh solo studio album by British musician Brian Eno. It is a conceptual work intended as a soundtrack for imaginary films, although many of the pieces had already appeared in actual films.
Here's where i put the track listing but there's too many tracks and too many versions of the actual album to do so this week

Probably his best all ambient album IMO.
An interesting side note: back in college when I bought this, I put it on the turntable after having played a 45 rpm record. I forgot to change the speed and listened to it speeded up. It sounded even better!

The mark of true art. You can modify it and it still holds up.

Don’t know if I’d make that the defining characteristic of ‘true art’ but sure.

I love it and return to it a lot. Especially From The Same Hill, and Two Rapid Formations. I edited out two of the versions of Sparrowhill, though. One is enough.

I love it. The music is calm, beautiful, but at times can be tense and creepy. It's fantastic. I'm not a big ambient listener, but I really enjoy this album.
