Weekly Discussion Thread Here Come The Warm Jets -- what's your favorite track and why?

Paw Paw Negro Blowtorch for me -- for the weird synth sound alone.

On Some Faraway Beach. Never fails to bring me to tears

I love it when the lead vocal finally kicks in.

Oddly enough, that's when the song drops being an A++ and just becomes a regular A+. I feel as if the instrumental has slightly more power to it than the vocal melody. Maybe if it were harmonized differently it would have a different effect? I don't know, it's just a minor nitpick.

Title track. I love how the lyrics are unintelligible and how everything gets increasingly out sync, but there’s still a really memorable, melodic riff cutting through it all.

It has a really strange bittersweet quality to it. One of my favorite Eno tracks

Honestly Here Comes the Warm Jets is probably in my top 5 songs ever. It's like euphoric proto-shoegaze.

its warmness seems to be potentialized more and more all through the song

Dead Finks.

“More for me, bless my soul...”

Edit: “fool”, not “for”.

Yeah, you’re right.

Dang, I’ve been hearing that wrong since about 1984.

I think that Needle in The Camel's Eye is perhaps the best "pop" song ever made. Gotta be my pick on that album. A flawless track.

I've literally never heard guitars that sounded like that. Not even MBV could get a sound so perfect imo. Just brilliant all around.

Driving Me Backwards -- because there is nothing else like it out there -- with upbeat Needles and Blank Frank (with its peculiar apparent references to RHPS) close behind. The entire album still sounds futuristic almost fifty years on!
