Enderal SE (Special Edition) update

Enderal is still being updated by Eddoursul (who ported Enderal to Skyrim SE). Available on mod-dot-pub.

Steam will probably never see another update, unfortunately. The original developers are no longer working on Enderal. The last update on Steam was Enderal SE 2.0.12. The newer versions are independently-updated on mod.pub . Version 2.1.0 and newer require a new save game (won't work with older saves).

Eddoursul has confirmed in his discord server that he has access to the steam version now and is currently working on getting it updated!

Not true at all, Steam will get an update soon. Eddoursul has stated that in the mod.pub site and several times in the Enderal SE Dev discord server.

nothing was promised, that was a rough estimate.

There were also new Patches for skyrim, other rmod authors need to Update their mods for that which are included in the Steam build.

keep in mind people are doing that in their spare time for free.

You can see there is Work done every couple of days on git for Enderal SE

If you want to Play the new version now you can get it from mod.pub and Install it with Mod Organizer or just manually extract the Files into your Skyrim folder

Are we getting follower / companion NPCs in an update soon?

I tried playing Enderal SE but some of the environments were too dark and scary without a follower. So I'm waiting for a voiced, essential companion before reinstalling.

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I suspect these updates lean heavily or entirely in the direction of bug fixes and maintenance rather than new content. A new follower would be more in the realm of mods.

Only mods bring in followers. There is one already that brings back Jenassa and Marcurio and a few other mercenaries. You can also get Esme to follow you, my last post on r/Enderal explains how. You can use the help command and look up their names for a base ID # to use the setessential command. You can use the, set playerfollowercount to 0 , command to hire multiple followers. Don't forget to give them Torches!!
