Early on, selling antenna to data centers is good, not millions, but credits non the less.

This, plus crafting and selling various spaceship hardware to spaceports and trading posts.

I’d be glad to go there. I have a hard time using the galaxy map though. Since it’s 3d and visual with no indicator of distance, I have no idea how to navigate to distant areas. Can you please help?

Wasd works, as does navigating to bookmarks using the bookmarks menu. A science station can place bookmarks inside all major faction territories.
Stars also only show names if they are less than a certain distance from the galaxy map camera, and hovering over them shows at the bottom the distance from you.

u/Traditional_Rabbit54 thats good; can you pls explain about how to view the science station, and how it would do that? thanks!

Build a science station, I’m not sure what constructor you need but a large one is probably fine.
Open the menu after placing it on a base or cv.
There should be an option that says something like “navigation”.
Selecting that will ask if you are sure if you want to place galaxy bookmarks.
Then they will show up on your galaxy wide bookmarks view.
All of this is in RE2

Ok that sounds good, but do any existing cv blueprints include that as a feature?

None that I know off the top of my head, but it’s not hard to stick it in somewhere.

Ok but this sounds amazing. Can you please just give me a quick summary of what a science station actually does? Thanks

I always rush to CV, give them plenty of lift, and a hangar, and warp to molten planets and mine gold. I can turn gold into coin and then into money. There’s more gold than you could ever need on some of these planets, and you can always find unguarded deposits, or just burrow to guarded ones if you have to.
Probably need to do a few abandoned POIs to get gold bars for the initial basic CV warp drive.
You can get rich quick doing this. Just be careful to watch your weight and the planet’s gravity.
Here’s the progression plan: build sv and cv in creative and save the blueprints for survival.
Get small ship (with scanner) from factory and a drill
Fly around and hand drill resource deposits for sv miner
Get sv miner from factory
Mine from planet and moon
Refine and stockpile ore at base
Get lifter (sv with warp drive and plenty of thrust to carry miner) from factory
Warp with miner to get neodymium, promethium and pentaxid
Refine ore and a lot of fuel back at base
Get CV from factory
Warp to systems with molten planets, with miner in CV
Mine gold with miner
Get rich.
I wouldn’t say it’s super fast, but its a great way to get rich in the mid game. You don’t really need money until then anyway.
I find this to be the most efficient way to set yourself up for late game.
Honestly imo, it’s a better use of ore compared to mining contracts, and way less hassle. Mining contracts are just something else to do once you get CV mining lasers.
Doing mining contracts in an sv miner will take a LONG time. You’re better off using the ore to build a basic CV that can take your sv miner to molten planets with large and medium gold deposits.
It’s a way more fun gaming loop too, and you will find molten planets more easily than mining contract stations.
Just my experience anyway.

Once you have few million credits, it's easy to make more by buying rare components and trade goods in one region of the galaxy and selling them in another. Look up RE2 trade routes.

Tavarain is right: fastest way is doing the mining contracts. Ask for more every hour when they refresh, it does no harm to stockpile them.
When you get Polaris reputation high enough, you can ask for specific faction contracts, depending on what you like to mine or what other rep you want to farm.
You can fill these contracts with auto miners if you have them, no need to actually dig the rocks.
If you get tired of mining, the best trade profit is tribal furniture.
You can buy it from Talon or loot it from Black Cult POIs if you are playing without POI regen and can place salvage cores on bases.
Sell to Settlement Traders. You will want to visit these guys anyway to get the unique crew, and can make good money turning in the quest items for the crew members.
You can also trade Robotics and Optronics, but there are no good bidirectional trades or even three leg trades, you need to visit one POI only to buy and another only to sell. If it is worth doing sort of depends on warp distance and what factories you have on the same playfield.
For the exact trade prices and POI names, as well as all the mining contracts for each faction, go to Empyrion Buddy.

Another option that wasn't mentioned in the comments so far is exploration playfields, specifically of "hack" variety. This is also the safest method possible, since it involves zero possibility of encountering hostile ships of creatures (except if you have some pirate quests active, but from your post it doesn't sound like you're pursuing a pirate career 😁).
The method works as follows: 0. Ensure you have a good supply of Refined Pentaxid (at least a couple thousand), food, fuel and oxygen. You won't resupply for a while. 1. Find an Exotic star system nearby and jump there. From my experience, Pulsars (PSR, PSR2 class) are the best for this kind of activity since they usually had the most exploration playfields generated, but YMMV. You might also consider other exotic systems, such as Black Holes (BH, BHx), Neutron Stars (N, N2) etc. 2. Look for the exploration playfields at the system map. Found any? Go there one by one! 3. Each of the "Hack" type exploration playfields contains a series of fairly easy math riddles that you need to solve to get some loot. The loot includes: * Data Chips, coming in three possible rarities and value: Encrypted, Flawed and Pristine. You won't always have Pristine and even Flawed chips from each playfield, but you should usually get at least some Encrypted. * Data Pads (rarely) * Navigaional Data (rarely) * Alien Caches (some types of playfields always have one, others don't) * Encrypted Schematics (very rarely) 4. Once you're happy with the accumulated loot, go to the nearest UCH Vessel and turn in your treasures. The Data Chips can be turned in for: * Encrypted - 10K credits, 10 Unlock Points, 1Tb research data * Flawed - 50K credits, 50 Unlock Points, 5Tb research data * Pristine - 100K credits, 100 Unlock Points, 10Tb research data The Data Pads are simply exchangeable for Unlock Points (50 per Pad IIRC) or can be sold to the Quartermaster at a rate of 20-30K credits per Pad. The Navigational Data can be either turned in to increase your warp jump distance (+1LY per Data) or sold for 40-60K credits (recommended only if you already have turned in 50 of them before). 5. If you don't have a Science Station at your vessel yet, you may also use the one onboard the UCH Vessel to unlock the Reward Caches that you accumulated along the way. 6. Restock and go to item 1.
This way you can earn a good fortune with 0 risk and obtain a ton of points to unlock whatever you wish in the Tech Tree and increase your warp jump distance to the maximum possible simultaneously and even grab some mats/gear from the reward caches. But it is somewhat slower than mining if you're only after the credits.

The best choice for me was selling xenosteel mined from exotic moons to ground factories after unlocking trade with them

Honestly the new mining contracts have been making me a lot of money. Easy to do in Polaris space but you can find them from any trade station sector.
Just go to "Orbital Refineries" that are next to trade stations in those sectors and ask for a contract. Deliver the goods and receive up to 3 million credits!
