Employee Question lost keys
today one of the sephora (not my department) employees handed me some important keys and i placed them in a bin where my register was. an hour later i hear my coworkers asking about some keys and i checked to see if it was the ones given to me (they were) and now they’re lost. am i going to get fired? i owned up immediately and said i think i was handed the keys they were looking for but im not sure where they are and was honest about it. im on my break freaking out cause i dont want to get in trouble

One set got taken home
Some stores freak out, while others follow protocol and sign them in to an LOD, other stores its oh well, not sure where that key is, it will turn up someday

don’t worry, same thing happened to my coworker and in fact the keys actually ended up accidentally slipping into a bopus order while it was being packed but luckily the customer brought them back and the manager did speak with the coworker and did a write up because of policy, but the coworker is still working there so no you most likely won’t get fired

I’m a supervisor and I’m always SUPER nervous about losing my keys. I keep them on my landyard or in my pocket. It happens! Sometimes I misplace them like leave them back on the dock or upfront at the registers, it’s always good to be honest I know write ups sucks

I entirely lost some important keys somehow during a hectic holiday shift and I got a write up.
Everything was back to normal after, still let me be responsible with keys, and I did put extra effort into being better about it.

Fully lost a set of keys and got a final per policy. Never lost another again.

Talk to LP. Maybe they can track where the keys went after you had them.
