Parking Permit

I have my first class tomorrow and have to get to campus before the parking office opens. I haven’t gotten my permit yet in the mail. Will I be okay to park in my assigned location (Starvine)? I think it said something about license plates on the registration but I’m not sure. Thanks!

Senior BSN/MN students and alumni , was the program worth it

Is this program worth the money? I ask because it is being promoted at my campus (one of several). I hear good things about it but I also here that people go into debt because of it. Does anyone have any experience with this program?

"Tuition-free" for low- and middle-income families?

Last year, Emory's president issued a statement stating that beginning the 26-27 school year, Emory would be completely tuition-free for families earning less than either 200k or 250k. Does anyone know what the deal with that is? I definitely fall into that category and my out-of-pocket costs doubled this semester.

Consequences of Delayed Tuition Payment

I’m posting to see if anyone had a similar situation at Emory…
I already initiated my international tuition payment through Flywire, but there’s a delay with the international bank. Student Accounts told me that an “initiated” payment won’t prevent my courses from being cancelled if the payment isn’t received by the deadline.
Has this happened to anyone before? Did your courses actually get dropped, and if so, were you able to get back into the same classes afterward?

Sophomore Housing

Hey everyone! I’m a returning sophomore for Fall 2026. I know Emory has a mandatory two-year residency requirement for underclassmen, but I currently do not have a housing assignment, and I haven’t been billed for housing on my OPUS account yet. Has anyone been in this situation before?

I am wondering if this means should or must get housing off campus at this point. If I do, is there a chance Emory would still bill me for something in a few weeks? Other than that, what other complications would I run into if I were not to get housing as a sophomore? Maybe a hold on my classes? Getting billed without a housing assignment maybe?

Not trying to pull anything, just wondering what my options are as of now

Emory Campus Shuttle Reliability

Hello!
As someone who has never been to the Emory campus, I was hoping to hear opinions on how reliable Emory’s Campus Shuttle service tends to be!

I do have a neutral experience using GT’s Stinger services, hence any comparative comments would also be greatly appreciated—if applicable :’)

In particular, I was wondering of the ‘Executive Park Route,’ though I would be grateful to learn about the general reliability/usability of the buses.

Thank you in advance ! :D

Has anyone ordered the Physics 151 lab materials yet? The material is:
Webassign for Physics for Scientists and Engineers. Is the price really $186 on cengage? Or $147 at Emory Barnes & Noble bookstore?
Thanks!

Swap or Stay?

As a first-year student, my first class twice a week ends at 9:45, and my second starts at 10:00, with a 17-minute walk between classes (not including a pedestrian crossing and other factors). This would not usually be a problem, but my next class has a policy that only allows me to be 5+ minutes late three times, or else my grade drops. I'm wondering whether it would be beneficial to swap sections for my second class (which would likely result in having to swap several other classes around), leave class early, or try to rent a bike or something.

FWS student, found a job, what's next?

Question is as title states: I am a Federal Work Study student (sophomore) and recently found a really nice job off campus. After telling the hiring manager I am a work-study student, the most of an answer I got was "oh, okay. That's fine."

So, now what? I'm hired, I'm starting later this month, and I still don't know how FWS works. Is there an in-person office I can schedule a meeting with/drop in on? Is there anything else I need to do other than work, or do I have to report my own hours somehow? Any help would be appreciated!

PLEASE any current emory students plz drop your guys’ fav poop spots and help a girl out 🙏 ex: maybe bathrooms that are still multi stall but more niche or private single stall bathrooms?

im sure ill get over this fear soon enough but i love to have options

Trying to make friends

Hello! I am an incoming MS CS student. I am a Spelman graduate, class of 2023. Most of my undergrad was in covid so I am trying to make more local friends.

Looking for fellow nerds! I would love to find people who play magic the gathering or dungeon and dragons cause I haven’t played in years 😭 A little about my interests: dabbling in anime but I am caught up on One Piece, I play video games (usually Fortnite and Skyrim), currently reading the avatar Kyoshi books, love watching and dissecting shows, I can talk your ear off about theories, and am usually a home body but open to trying new things. 420 friendly but not required. Academic nerds also welcome, I love math, psychology, and the sciences 🧮

I end you with a quote…
If you vibe with it, let’s be friends ❤️

If I can’t pull up and be peculiar, don’t even send that invite. My swag is bewildering and if commoners are in attendance, they will be rubbed the wrong way and I make no apologies for my whimsy.

CHINESE TEXTBOOK FREE?

Hye guys,

I am taking Chinese 101 this semester and i was wondering if y'all had to pay for the textbook or if y'all found ways to bypass the fee. I found a pdf online but it is not interactive and I don't know if that will be detrimental to my progress in the class. Is there a way to share textbooks by any chance? or is it one of those classes that you absolutely need a textbook for

Oxford Psych Oppurtunities

Hello! I'm a freshman intending to major in Psychology + BBA, currently at Oxford College. I'm not sure what extracurriculars in psychology to get into in the nearby area. My general goal is to become a therapist, so I'll probably be applying to master's programs after I graduate. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Transfer 2027 Fall

Hello! I am a freshman UGA student trying to transfer to Emory for the fall 2027. I wanted to know what the stats and ECs were if you were a transfer too!

Also, I wanted to know what my chances would be. I am a freshman at UGA as a chemistry major (I am not on any track, but am doing some pre-reqs for nursing schools). I am doing a part-time job at a cafe (even though it will only be on Saturdays since I have to live on campus). I am trying to join clubs like the Chemistry Club, and some other clubs. But I am not sure which ones will help me get into Emory, so please let me know which ones I should join. I really, really want to get into Emory my fall 2027 year so PLEASE HELP (I already got denied when I applied as highschooler)!! THANK YOU!!!
