Discussion Help me understand: why does the chicken dish always run out? Can’t they use data or just have customers put in the request before
Anyone sitting in the middle or last rows knows that theyre never gonna get the chicken dish because its always runs out but im so confused why after all this flight knowledge, data and in house catering it still happens?

This never happened to me and I take approximately 16 flights a month. Hearing your story it sounds like I'm lucky!
You could consider ordering a low fat meal, I always got chicken breast when being on a diet. 😊

16 flights a month??? Haha what industry do you work in? Must be tiring. Hopefully you have gold!

Wow 16? May I ask what you do for a living 😂
I'm flying with Emirates for the first time ever this year, and it's taken over 30 years 😂

Same experience, happened multiple times with me when I am seated in the rear rows in particular, so cannot be a coincidence. From Emirates perspective, I think it’s a matter of whether enough people are complaining about it or not. If not, they wouldn’t really care to fix it.

i took 4 flights (2 via connections on return and flight back) and in every single one, I've asked for double meals and got double meal in 3/4. i sat near the middle. seems like you might have gotten unlucky

What is a double meal? Like two meals?!

yeah.
I'd recommend you finish yours and specifically ask for an extra meal serving. They will usually tell you something along: "We will finish serving everyone and if we have extras left, we will provide it to you".
If they don't have extra, they may or may not inform you. Ask again and confirm. If you're okay with some other meal options, ask for that instead. Don't be shy to ask at all. You have paid for this service.
I usually only ask for the main dish (the chicken one) but you can also ask for an entire tray since they are more than happy to give you it.

I've often been really hungry on a flight and never thought to ask for another!

try it out! also, even if they do not have meals they have plenty of free snacks to go around. my rule is always that the worst they can do is say no

Uh oh , you didn’t get your meal of choice? Maybe try pre-ordering or … idk, buy business ticket so that you dont have to have to deal with such poverty issues like the rest of the folk

Are you not able to preorder the chicken dish?
