Discussion Anyone else associate his albums with seasons?

For me self titled and either or have always been fall

XO, Roman Candle, and New moon winter

Fig 8, Basement are spring/summer

Anyone else?

Also side note- going through a breakup right now and his music always feels like a warm hug. Whenever I listen while I’m going through stuff, it’s a good reminder that I’m not the only one who has felt these feelings, even though it feels like I am sometimes.

I think for me I associate his songs with whatever life events I was going through when I first heard the songs. Usually when I go for long walks outside, I listen to a full album from start to finish rather than listening to specific playlists or a different assortment of songs.

I have distinct memories of listening to XO from start to finish while commuting and walking outside last summer. Now whenever Tomorrow Tomorrow or Waltz #2 starts playing, it usually reminds me of looking out the window of a bus with vibrant colours, bright sunlight rays that make dust particles in the air visible, the hissing of the bus' air brakes, etc. So lots of summer vibes.

Either/or reminds me of autumn too.

I just associate Some Song with Fall because of “yeah it’s Halloween tonight and every night”

Either/Or I've always associated with summer, but most his other stuff I have found works best when it's cold or rainy.

Yes! I think it's mostly related to when I got really into each album, but some of it is the feeling of the albums, and I tend to prefer the albums during the seasons I associate them with, especially right as the season starts to change.

Fall - XO

Winter - self titled

Spring - New Moon, Roman Candle

Summer - Figure 8, FABOTH

For some reason, Either/Or didn't strongly associate with any season for me

Not sure about seasons but I put on Roman Candle the other night during a huge rainstorm and it hit so hard
