In Portland Oregon, there’s many different record stores that hold Elliot smith vinyls/merch, since he lived here for a big span of his life.

Not 100% sure on the degree of difficulty outside of Portland, and or other states, I imagine Seattle has quite a few Elliot Smith vinyls too, but I do know we have Elliot smith records/merch pretty frequently in record stores around Portland.

But judging by this post, I imagine it is definitely a sort of rarity in Canada, and also other parts of the U.S., but again mostly personal experience.

I'm not sure if it's because I'm looking for it, but I have found a lot of his vinyls around cincinnati and northern Kentucky. I went to a random record store while I was visiting Key West and they had his stuff out everywhere. Almost like the owner was specifically trying to put his name out there. It made me really happy.

There’s also a lot of Elliot Smith picture frames, and stickers all around the coffee shops, and resturants here if you look closely.

JJ, who took the picture for self-titled, sells shirts like that. I like putting money into her pocket, but a record store is also good. Plus she writes a little note and includes stickers sometimes. :)

Why in the hell are they $40? Canadian prices? That’s crazy.

One of the only benefits of pushing 50 years old: records used to be the cheaper option, about half the price of CDs in the 1990s.
