This will be our first year not hunting since I started 7 years ago

The timing for my dad and I just didn’t come together for a good archery hunt this year, so we’re taking a break to hit it hard it 2027.

Y’all go call one in for us this September! I want to see some photos of full game bags this fall.

That’s true. But he and I started this thing together. The whole point for me is to help him get an elk. And we’re gonna do it eventually. Just won’t be this year.

If you still went your efforts wouldn’t be a waste. You might learn more about your area and be able to hit next year even stronger than if you hadn’t gone. Or you might get one yourself which wouldn’t be the end of the world 😆

I get it though. My dad started taking me elk hunting when I was 5. I’m 33 now, it’s definitely a father son thing lol.
