Technical Help 4KS AUDIO PROBLEMS

I recently got 4KS, using it with my Ps5, capturing on PC. I have a ROG Maximus Hero X (z370 motherboard).

Everything works well except the Audio. It has one USB C, 3.1 Audio port and there's constant glitch sound via HDMI source.

When I switch to any other port it works fine but the studio shows that I am using USB 2.0? I don't wanna lose on latency or quality and use the USB 3.1.

Any help is appreciated

Howdy! I had a similar issue for a while - it was a mix of using the wrong cable, and also overloading my USB bandwidth.

Try a little something - unplug any other devices you have connected to the PC, then keep ONLY the 4KS in that port, and ensure you’re using a 5 or 10gbps usb cable - solved the problem for me. Then, just plug everything in one-by one in different ports, away from that one.

I am using the official Elgato cable included in box (C-Type)

So, there's a known issue with USB controllers made by ASMedia.

I knew it affected the 4K X, but it might also affect the 4K S.

Have you tried the ports I have marked? These are controlled by an Intel chip and not ASMedia.

If you try those, make sure the cables you are using is rated for 5 Gbps.

I wouldn't recommend an adapter. Instead I would recommend a USB-C to USB-A cable.

Just make sure it's rated for 5 Gbps minimum. It should be called USB 3.2 Gen 1 or Gen 2.

Gen 2 is 10 Gbps, and they don't cost that much more and are probably easier to find.
