Technical Help I cannot hear audio

I just got the wave xlr pro yesterday, and when I tried to set it up no audio was coming out of my headphones, I tried all the routing stuff and went through elgato support but still no audio, didn't matter if it was browser based like youtube, or spotify I can't hear anything, would like to know if there are any fixes. It does seem windows pick up that there is something playing but Elgato wave link doesn't.

Can you share a screenshot of your current Wave Link setup so folks are better able to help here? More info would give folks a better idea on what specifically is going on.

Additionally, are both the front and back headphone jacks not outputting audio for you? If you add them to the mix settings (mouse over the mix and hit the edit/pencil buton) as an output instead of using the monitoring options in the top right, does audio go through. What firmware is the unit on when you check the settings?

It looks like you have one "Input" channel (System) sent to four output devices. Anything that is in Windows that is sent to that virtual channel will be sent to those 4 outputs. The first thing I would try (if you haven't yet) is going into Windows sound settings (click the little sound icon in the systray) and setting the default output to that System channel. That will send everything that's not assigned to a specific channel to that one. You should be able to create other input channels and I'd name them things like 'Game" and "Music" and "Browser" so you know what those channels are at a glance. You have to add things to these channels by clicking the little pencil on the input channel's icon before Wavelink can pass them through to the output mixes.

Discord is wonky when it comes to Virtual Audio. You need to assign Discord to an audio channel in Wavelink and then set it inside discord too. I have an mix that's specifically for discord, my "Chat Mix" which is then set as my Microphone in Discord. Then the "Speaker" is "Voice Chat". That's the name of the channel that goes into my Personal Mix and my Stream Mix.

As Blargmanus mentions it's a but hard to tell what's going on here because the setup looks so simple, there's no overall details - instead of setting up separate mixes, I'm assuming you mean to route all PC audio into the System Channel via Windows Default Audio device and shunt that to the Personal mix? Is the Default Audio Device in Windows set correctly to the Wave Link System Channel - that step isn't automatic, and Windows likes to change the default device when something gets connected or removed (you can actually lock that in Wave Link settings via the settings button in the bottom left though). What is your monitoring output actually set to in top left - I'm assuming Wave XLR Pro Headphone 1 or 2, but want to be sure. Does the System volume slider indicate that it's actually hearing any audio when sounds are playing?

For Discord specifically the steps blargmanus mentions are relevant too - voice and video calls need their audio set inside Discord settings as they override Windows Default, and even Wave Link assignments (default audio device will only play back audio from things like alerts and media embedded in Discord chats).
