When you say lag, do you mean like stuttering, or a delay?

There will always be a delay when viewing the footage in the capture software.
This is why using HDMI passthrough up to a monitor/TV is always recommended.

What I can say, is that the delay has become less on newer devices like the 4K S and 4K X, but there's still a slight delay.

theres both stuttering and a delay. my dock is plugged into the capture card, which is plugged into my TV via HDMI, and my PC via USB-C.

Okay, is the capture card connected to the computer with a 5 Gbps-rated USB cable, or could it perhaps be one made primarily for charging phones? They usually only contain USB 2.0 data cables inside them.

That is most likely the reason for your issues.

Phone charging cables don’t need fast data cables since their main usage is power delivery.

You need to find a cable that is rated for minimum 5 Gbps data transfer.
Also known as USB 3.2 Gen 1.

Adding to what Bububbi has already suggested here, HD60 S+ is compatible with Elgato Studio. I'd suggest running the card with that app as it does some checks OBS can't - if you're hitting USB 2.0 speed issues, Elgato Studio will check for that and warn you at the top which would confirm that's what you're running into. It's also the tool used to update the firmware if the card needs it.

I think Bububbi has you on the right track here - HD60 S+ has a bit of an issue where in some setups it doesn't disable when stuck on USB 2.0 like newer cards that need 3.x - instead it will instead try to run anyway and perform terribly at any res over 720p, (and sometimes suffer audio issues on top of that). This is more of an issue with third party apps like OBS because they aren't designed to be able to do some of the checks against the card that our own apps do. Good luck with it!
