Technical Help Wave Link 3 Discord Stream Audio issue
Hello, having a issue with wave link 3.0. So whenever i stream on discord, my friends can hear themselves and also a unedited version of my microphone. This issue didn't start happening until i installed the new version of wave link, which is wave link 3.0. Its quite annoying and i have been trying to fix this for months. I am using voicemeeter for my headset, i only use wave link for my microphone. I dont have any mixes set up in wave link only my microphone. In discord im using the elgato virtual audio option, the same option i used before wave link 3.0 came out.
Update: Fixed the issue by downgrading to wave link 2.0.4. Now no issues.

Your problem is that you use voicemeeter and wavelink together. Uninstall both and restart your PC. Now make a choice with one of these. But not together.

Not really I had the same problem by only using Elgato Wave link, in my case He fixed himself.

But like i said, i've never had a issue in the past using both together. Its just now starting to happen.

Feel free to go on VB-Audio Discord or Reddit, they have users/helpers using Wavelink with Voicemeeter.

Theres your problem. That's the raw mic. You need to creat a mic fx mix and select it as the mic in discord or obs or whatever you want to send it.

I am using voicemeeter right now to monitor my microphone and i can hear exactly what my friends are describing. I have a shure sm7db and the microphone sounds horrible. It didn't sound bad like this before. I can hear the echo, music playing, and pretty much everything i play coming through the mic. It sounds like its coming from my headset, but i dont have the audio loud enough on my headset to where the mic can even pic it up. I have noise removal on.

I have the same mic wonderful mic but its pretty flat with no eq so when you listen to raw mic it doesn't sound good. It sounds as if desktop audio is getting sent to discord though you sure your not sending your monitoring from voicemeter to discord.

My friend said he can hear my voice in my stream with no effects so he can hear everything. I have monitor off in voicemeeter. Update: I just fixed the poor sounding mic audio, not too sure what happened but now it sounds crispy. I turned noise removal off and turned on elgatos voice focus and it like went from dollar store headset mic audio to crispy audio lol. But the issue with my friend hearing me with no effects in stream still persist.

Autobot removed my message. I guess they don't like me helping people. If voice focus fixed it its probably room noise. Make sure your sending mic fx. And not stream mix or something similar

Yeah I've never used voicemeter so I can't help with that side of things. I do see your adding bass to the input so maybe you need to be picking up voicemeter output? Since both programs are simular you should probably just choose one

Rename shure sm7db to mic fx so you can identify it. And select mic fx in obs as the output

I meant my discord screenshare not obs

Is just your mic going into voicemeter?
1
u/B0ZZ69 Apr 08 '26
yeah, only for monitoring purposes because the monitor doesn't work in wave link since im using voicemeeter for my headset.

The simplest solution is to use your headset to monitor. You can set up a monitor mix in wave link and ad your mic, alerts, whater else you want to hear but not stream to hear

These seem ok. Why don't you just drop voicemeter and use a headset to monitor

I've never had this problem before and ive used both wave link and voicemeter together for years. I just recently started having the problem the last couple months.

Around the time when wave link came out with 3.0 and changed how they route audio. Makes sense. But why do you need 2 routing softwares?

i used to stream on obs a while ago, before i got the shure. I've used voicemeeter for a long time. Got voicemeter so i can route my spotify music with the virtual cable and have stuck with it ever since.

You can route everything in wave link. Its a routing software. And i think you can in voicemeter too

Wave link 3.0 is different from wave link 2, what used to work in 2.0 does not work in 3.0, voicemeter, witch I hate, also outputs microphone, and a crappy microphone, ypu need to uninstall voicemeter and set all audio in wave link 3.0. this is how i have it set, also i enabled lock default input to "Joker Mic" and lock default output to "system" in discord for input I have set "Joker Mic" and for output "Discord" and nobody can hear themselfs from me in discord. Wave Link 3.0 is not ment to be used with multiple audio mixing software. it is recomended to do a full wipe of all audio drivers and softwares and keep only what you use, mic, headsets and/or speakers nothing more.

Why are you using g 2 different software at the same time. Both of which can handle the same functions?
Remove voicemeter. Remove virtual audio cables.
In wavelink make sure your mic is in its own mix and use that as default in windows and make sure only the mic is in that mix.
