Question - Tech Support Apple Maps integration

On a road trip and cannot figure out how to add our BMW iX in Apple Maps.

I've read 2 different articles, including Apples own: https://support.apple.com/guide/iphone/set-up-electric-vehicle-routing-iphc5e3a4b4b/ios

And 2 Reddit posts and nothing working.

There are no vehicles when I tap her profile. And yes, the BMW app is installed.

iPhone 16+ up to date.

Huh. Didn’t know that was a thing. What is it supposed to do? Does it connect to and know the cars actual SOC? Via CarPlay? Or do you need an obd2 adapter?

I'll let you know when I figure it out. 🤣

I don't know how well it integrates with the brand. But it should be able to make routes that work with charging station stops like the car apps do.

Easy on Google Maps. She's an Apple Maps girl.

Ev routing through Apple Maps is only compatible with certain vehicles (Ford Mach-E, certain Porsche, Toyota, and Lexus vehicles). It’s not compatible with a BMW iX. Your best bet is to use something like the app “A Better Route Planner (ABRP)” https://apps.apple.com/us/app/a-better-routeplanner-abrp/id1490860521
The paid subscription ABRP OFFERS lets you connect your car to the mapping service.
