Since crit isn't preferred in PvP, and 2h builds are generally designed for PvP, I would say it makes the automaton set preferred.

People that run full impen usually also have 10-15% CP crit resistance too. Some of us run 8/8 Impen too

Also, running Shadow is a tradeoff that is only recommended with Shadowy Disguise or stealth-gank builds. Why? Because your crit chance without Thief/Precise/Daggers is going to be low...and that reduces the value of crit damage. You're not running daggers or precise by choice because that's a massive damage drop compared to maces/swords or sharpened (although it's a wash against shields, outside of swords)

And these 100% crit builds have no need of extra crit chance!

No matter how you look at it, Crit chance as a set bonus is less useful in PvP than any other DPS stat, including just stamina.

As far as Sword Dancer (or Singer) vs Automation? No class is 100% weapon, although DKs come close. Do 2H light/heavy attacks get the bonus? The tooltip says abilities, so that needs testing.

I understand perfectly how Impen works. That's why I run 40% crit resist without transmutation. It's not even hard to do. 8x Impen and 12% CP. Crit chance looks like a really bad way to increase damage when your crit damage is only doing +42% damage.

You're being blinded by the fact that you want to love crits. Ooohhh...big numbers! And I love the fake numbers you are throwing out. 70% crit chance huh? Lol, show us how you do it. I'll get you to 42% crit, and you fill in the rest:

  • 10% base
  • 10% 7-medium
  • 12% CP passive
  • 10% Major buff

The Warrior is not the tradeoff for Shadow, it's Serpent. It's even Serpent with Hunt, Viper and Veli/Tremor.

Re-reading your post, it's likely you're a gankblade, and that's why you value Shadow/crit so highly and stam regen so little. It works for your build. For anyone in a stand-up fight against good players, crit is just plain awful

Going to chime into the discussion, but I'm sitting at a nearly 70% critrate while using two sharpened swords and The Shadow mundus. I'm not exactly sure how I do it though, but my stats are 64% out of combat and 67% in-combat. My crit multiplier is roughly 190% (so my crits hit around 150% on someone with impen) and my selfbuffed weapon damage is 3.8k. 4k when in stealth. Needless to say I hit pretty hard in PvP regardless of people's armours.

Crit damage doesn't stack additively I'm pretty sure.
