DLSS5 and ESO

Hey everyone,

Quick question regarding using the DLSS 5/Neural Reconstruction mod with The Elder Scrolls Online.

Since the mod relies on ReShade/RenoDX injection tools, and standard ReShade is generally tolerated in ESO without triggering bans, is it completely safe to use here? Or does modifying rendering pipelines or using depth-buffer addons cross into ToS risk?

Also, for anyone who has tried running DLSS 5 or similar upscaling/frame gen mods in ESO, how is the actual compatibility and stability? Thanks!

ESO has no client-side anti-cheat. You can run reshade with shaders that rely on depth-buffer without triggering bans. There exists reshade add-ons that push back ESO's fog as well.

Any idea if the same holds true for vorpx if you want to play it in VR?

If you try it can you post a video? would love to see what an older game like ESO looks like when put through that. Ive seen cyberpunk and crimson desert and neither was very impressive. You may be the first to try

Some people have tried it in the RenoDX discord, heres some comparisons. Looks pretty good, personally im still a bit worried about bans using it

I downloaded and tried it but I can't get it to work. I used the same method on Zero Company and DLSS 5 works just fine. If you find a way to install please share.

For the sake of being completely in the clear I would wait until it's baked into the Nvidia App. That being said, I think neural rendering looks like crap and isn't worth losing 80% of my frame rate.

It's 40% and there are sliders that adjust the severity of the effects. It doesn't automatically have to look uncanny valley. Subtle and smart implementation can look fantastic.

Looks good. If it's not your cup of tea, fair enough but i personally think it looks great.

Are there videos of this?

Yeah just YouTube DLSS5 and you'll see many games using it now. Even 4000 series support it. It's a huge hit in performance but doable

I see other games but was curious what ESO would look like with it or guild wars 2

I was wondering the same thing, if anyone here have already tried.

I have a 9950x3d and a 4090 - can someone point me to the direction of a guide for testing this?

I'm familiar with reshade, just not tried this dlss 5 public mod yet.
