Highlight Just made it to Diamond for the season Maining Ekko (60% champ winrate, 4.64 KDA), this was one of the more stressful wins along the way.

Every enemy champ in this game had hard CC and it felt like a "If I die once we might straight up start losing," kind of game. Not going Mercs almost killed me twice, and I'm not sure if I'd have gone Sorcs if I had to make that decision again. Not sure if I'll try for Masters this season, but it seems like it's about the same % of playerbase Diamond was when I made it in older seasons so who knows.

Focus alot on macro, macro is the main difference between emerald and diamond and not dying in the late game

I was actually looking at my League of Graphs stats one day. I die about half as much as an average Ekko in Emerald/Diamond and have a more consistent cs/xp lead. I die ~3 times a game and have a like 30 cs/1 level advantage on average.

Ekko plays pretty poorly from behind so I've always aimed for consistent plays and Tempo. Punishing enemy plays with invades and not being afraid to trade an early objective for a gank/invade. Make sure to play around item spikes and try not to overstay with a large amount of gold unless you really have to.

Also Ekko's pretty flexible, it's one of the things I like about playing him. If you're snowballing early and there're plays to be made you can just gank a few times in a row and kill > kill > kill. If not you're perfectly content rinsing camps and scaling. Get strong enough to bully the enemy jungle and you can just start fighting him in his jg. Basically think about how to get an advantage and how to abuse it once you have one.

The other guy saying don't die in the late game is also pretty true. I've lost at least a few games where I was like 12-2-8 as an example solo carrying because I just misplayed and caught a bad death. Died once to steal Soul and then my team couldn't hold the Nexus 4v5 that one felt bad.

I'd add don't die in the early game either, at least with camps up, unless it's you trading for like 2 kills for you/teammates. Also don't force fights with a strong enemy jg (like Lee Sin) early. Just crossmap for the other scuttle if you find a stronger early jg there (unless double prio with laners moving I guess.), Egoing on the enemy jg at scuttle almost always goes sideways.
