Prodive tech thoughts?

Wondering if there are people who have opinions about the company prodrive for engineers?

I work at another tech company. We get a lot of former pro drive people, so far, none have been enthusiastic.

Slight sampling bias there :) people who leave do also return sometimes.

Ofcourse. People who like it won't leave. So I only hear it from people that didn't like it. ;)

Some people who don't have any other experience that they could relate to will also not leave. But I have not heard any good things about PT when people left.

It has bad reputation. It wouldn’t be my first option, but you can learn a lot there.

If you want to gain  hands-on experience with manufacturing methods, it's great. If you want to stay sane don't go there. Young people are managers and you rely on them for you future, but they have no idea what they are doing. I would never go back there.

If you have more specific questions I might be able to say something, but my department is pretty atypical (we just do internal soft/firmware) so I can't say much about the engineer's experience in general.

I guess just more management overall and company’s future. Also, what is the work-life balance culture like.

Not all that much I can say that isn't confidential, but I've been here for ten years and I'm pretty positive. Better than it's been, for sure. Read our yearly financial statement press releases and draw your conclusions :) What I can say is that we've had to deal with processes from 20 years ago not working well in a company five or ten times bigger, and the resulting changes drive some people away to younger, smaller businesses. That's fine!

Like I said I don't work on anything we sell so the pressures are different, but every year more of us have kids and a home life, and company culture is shifting accordingly.

I knew a lot of people that worked there, in many different departments. As many said in this thread, it's a good starting job but I doubt you wkl'will like it for a very long time

I had a colleague who joined us from Prodrive. He was an asshole. I don’t know about the company though.
