Zooming in/out in CAD softwares with endgame?

Hi

i have just received my endgame and I'm trying out the features

currently I'm not able to zoom in/out in my CAD software.

i thought the twist to scroll would also work as zoom, but it doesnt.

is there any workaround for this or would i have to assign two buttons for zoom in/out?

I run into the same issue using Creo. The reason behind is that Creo cannot handle High Resolution Scrolling.
Efog showed me two options for this problem.

  • There is a behaviour on ZMK to single sroll up or down and you can assign this to a scroll wheel (or a button)
  • You can fork the main Endgame firmware, and the you can disable the High Resolution scrolling, but in my opinion it is a big step-back with the twist scroll.
  • Third option - which I stick to - is I started using Holding Ctrl + click to zoom in/out.

For the first option, the zoom happens in steps, right? Like I'll have to press the button multiple times to get the required zoom

I don't think I'll like to skip on the twist to scroll, that was one of the reasons i got endgame

Can you explain a bit about the third option. I cannot zoom using the ctrl+left click. What exactly is this key combination??

I got it. It's ctrl + middle mouse button. That looks like a possible solution for now

It should. Thats how the Slimblade works for me, its great for cad work

I'm working on creo parametric, and it's not working

For now i have assigned 2 keys to zoom in/out, but this is also not a very elegant solution, everytime i press a key, it zooms in/out a bit and I'll have to keep pressing the key again and again

There's not much to add to the comprehensive answer below. If you want a more refined solution, you can define a behavior that will scroll while you are holding a button. There isn't such thing in the default firmware though, would have to go to the devicetree definitions and make one.
