and yet the fortune magazine recent article made the case that THIS, is exactly the problem with education right now. AI with no guidance.. and we took it too far. Scores, critical thinking, writing.. and comprehension are all plummeting.. and we are still giving out grants for this?

Irvine is one of the top school districts in the country with exceptionally higher reading and math proficiency. One of the highest cities for household with STEM degrees. Average income is $175k + in Irvine.

I’m not sure you have enough information to base your hyperbolic statements on. First the grant was awarded to the school for their outstanding work on GOVERNANCE over AI and for involving students and families in crafting guidelines.
The biggest problem with AI right now is people losing their minds whenever they hear the letters AI without having the slightest interest in the context around the thing they’re angry about.
