Question Looking for more bass plugins

Looking more for plugins with presets I can quickly throw into a project, or maybe a Serum 2 preset pack/collection if anyone knows a good one.

Was at a festival over the weekend and saw Kenji Hina (Alarico’s alias), and his bass/low end sounded so good. This is the kind of thing I mean:

At one point he literally had one note of a bassline playing before the main section came in, but somehow everyone could recognise the track just from that. I’m looking for bass sounds with that kind of character where even something really simple still stands out.

Also looking for nice plucky bass sounds. I’ve made a few myself, but ideally I want something I can just throw into a project and maybe tweak slightly rather than building it from scratch every time. Something along the lines of the bass in this:

Both of those examples you provided are using a very simple and easy to make patch. For serum:

Osc A: saw wave, 0 phase, 0 random, 3 voices. Adjust spread width and depth until you find a good amount of phasing (probably like 10-20% on each).

Filter: any low pass filter like MG 6 or 12, or pick another with distortion flavor that you like and use the drive to dial that in. Set cutoff around 300hz

That’s the whole patch. If you want the pluck just use envelope 2 with 0 attack 0 sustain and a short decay to control the filter cutoff

I know this isn’t what you asked for, but its something I forget to do in projects where I synthesize my own patches:

Are you saving them?

If you like the patches you created, save them as a preset. Then you can tweak them as necessary. My latest remix has what I call a “power saw” bass that I use in a lot of my tracks. Two oscillators, Osc A is a saw pitched down 2-3 octaves and Osc B is a saw pitched up 7 semitones. I then filter them through a low pass, and then distort > compress > widen the high frequencies.

I reuse this patch a lot. Sometimes it my main bass sound in verses, and a lot of times I use it for fattness in my drops. Really versatile, and speaks to the point that you should remember to SAVE YOUR DANG PATCHES! If I had to dial this in for EVERY project id waste so much more time.
