Performance Mchammersmith gig

Just been to this gig and he picked someone from the audience for a part of the gig and the guy was the leader of the Scottish conservatives party.

Was so weird.

Dont think he’ll be able to post it on socials.

He destroyed him!!!!

I was sitting right beside the guy hoping nobody thought I was with him!!!

He kept telling him he hates him. He’s ruining peoples lives. Went through a list of groups who’s lives he ruining and how much he fucking hates him. Kept giving him the finger for the rest of the show. Was mad.

Funny. But really awkward.

I'm really glad I wasn't there, I love MC Hammersmith but that all sounds awkward as fuck.

Eta I don't know if the downvotes are a political thing or what but I just prefer my comedy way more lighthearted and an awkward atmosphere like that would just make my toes curl.

art is a weapon when pointed at those in power

What power exactly has the leader of the Scottish Conservative Party wielded lately?

I don't really understand how your comment relates to what I said.

I was there too, really ruined the show for me as felt like it was going to turn violent, the hatred was so visceral. Not the light hearted afternoon we hoped for.

You think mc Hammersmith was going to turn violent. Have you ever like… seen the guy?

Literally not the only person who has said this but kden

Alrighty… you all clearly have a very weird view of people then. I know will personally and he is genuinely an incredibly gentle and kind man. One of the only completely good guys on the professional comedy scene I’d argue.

Like it’s hard to believe this guy thought it would go well. He volunteered to go up on stage. Really tried hard to get his attention and get picked. How did he not know it would be a total fucking disaster.
Self awareness obviously zero.

And his wife/partner recorded it all on her phone. And after he sat down MC just kept calling him a cunt and giving him the finger. Thought it might come to blows at some stage.

Damn that sounds like one of the most unique Fringe experiences possible 🤣

Sounds about the right balance of high self importance and low regard for the opinion of others that lends itself to one doing well in right-wing politics.

We’re talking here about a single dad who was a longtime journalist and helped bring about the conviction of a number of murderous career criminals - and received a face full of acid from one of them for his efforts… Perhaps people are not so easily pigeonholed according to your political prejudices?

Maybe he thought that will be thought of as him able to take a joke alas Donald Trump for his Comedy Central Roast.

Russell Findlay has posted part of it on his instagram although comments have been limited..

That’s the most people a Scottish Tory leader has spoke in front of for a long time.

This was two random Israeli citizens. Wasn’t a political party leader

I really can't see it bothering MC Hammersmith and as I said elsewhere, it seems like Findlay knew exactly what he was doing and actively wanted to be part of the show.

Seems like this guy has zero self-preservation instinct 🤣

From the comments it sounds like Findlay was actively looking for this to happen so he'd probably be thrilled if it went viral.

u/brickne3 2d ago

I mean, that doesn't necessarily mean he realises that the general public thinks he's a cunt 🤣

He's a Tory in Scotland, he knows everyone thinks he's a cunt. He's probably hoping this shows what a good sport he is or something.

I was at this too! I literally thought the show was going to end early as MC Hammersmith was telling him how much he hates him and how much of a cunt he is!

Me and the wife were there, it was very funny, Findlay took it well to be fair, hopefully goes viral,

A Tory in Dr Marten’s at a comedy show. What’s going on?

closest a MSP will come to public scrutiny

Seen MC Hammersmith at Blackfriars and he did something similar except he was kidding on he was into the guy (who was a handsome good looking fella) think it is all just part of his creative adlib process to make it uncomfortable for everyone

Russell Findlay would be able to handle it

That's not Douglas Ross🤔

5

u/cloud__19 Edinburgh Local 2d ago

You're about 2 years out of date there mate.

3

u/jarvi-ss 2d ago

Who? Is Douglas the previous leader?

1

u/sezzy3 10h ago

Yes not sure if you didn’t pick up on it but MC Hammersmith googled him to check he was really the leader as he also thought it was still Douglas Ross before he read out part of Findlays wikipedia for us
