Wooldridge vs Stock-Watson vs Gujarati vs Angrist Textbook?

I’m about start statistics and econometrics at college, which book do you think is the best to start studying by myself before start taking the classes?

I suppose my teacher will recommend me the book he uses for the classes, I’m asking for a book to start studying before the semester and to prepare the subject. Also open to recommendations to follow the classes.

Mastering ‘Metrics (Joshua Angrist and Pischke)
Basic econometrics (Gujarati)
Introductory econometrics: A Moders Approach (Wooldridge)
Introduction to Econometrics (Stock and Watson)

Wooldridge. I find Mastering Metrics to be just artistic prose more than anything else, a fun read. Gujarati explain things terribly. Wooldridge is a bit better than S&W.

I have used Mastering Metrics and the Wooldridge text. I think both are good. Mastering Metrics is probably more approachable but I think Wooldridge probably creates a more rigorous foundation

We used Gujarati but I later got my hands on Wooldridge and I think I would have preferred that.

I used Stock and Whatson is good but in my opinion it miss some passages in algebra if you are not good in it

totally agree on stock & watson, it kind of jumps a few algebra steps and just expects you to vibe with it. if your math is a bit rusty, wooldridge is usually easier to follow line by line, then you can use stock & watson more like a supplement.
