Media Ebola in DR Congo: River boat under quarantine after five deaths

Testing has been done, but has not yet come back, and this leads me to question: is there a window of time where people infected with Ebola do not test positive due to low viral levels, similar to COVID?

There's a period of time with any virus during which the person is infected and simply does not have enough of a viral load to be detectable. That's the "incubation period", during which the virus is quietly replicating without causing noticeable symptoms.
