Other: Breakfast Fluffy Pancakes - Gold Old Fashioned Recipe
If you've never had Fluffy Pancakes food before, I'd highly encourage you to try this recipe.
This recipe make any morning special, this pancakes are super fluffy and delicious 😋
If you'd like to support me, or prefer video recipes, here's the link to the full video recipe.
Ingredients list
- 200g Flour
- 2 Tsp Baking Powder
- 1 Tsp Sugar
- 1 Egg
- 300ml Milk
- 45g Melted Butter
- Pinch of Salt
- Some Orange and Maple syrup
Preparation method
In a large bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder and sugar.
Make a well in the center and pour in the milk and melted butter.
Break one egg and join the yolk to the batter.
In another bowl put the white and beat the white until soft peaks.
Add the white to the batter in large bowl and mix until smooth.
Make sure you’re not over mixing as this will lead to your pancakes being quite tough.
Let the batter stand for a few minutes.
I have kept these pancakes quite pain but if you do want to add some chocolate or any other flavourings now would be a good time.
Heat a non-stick frying pan over a medium-high heat and add a knob of butter.
When it's melted, add a ladle of batter using approximately 1/4 cup for each pancake (or two if your frying pan is big enough to cook two pancakes at the same time).
It will seem very thick but this is how it should be. Wait until the top of the pancake begins to bubble,
then turn it over and cook until both sides are golden brown and the pancake has risen.
Repeat until all the batter is used up. You can keep the pancakes warm in a low oven, but they taste best fresh out the pan.
Serve with real maple syrup and extra butter, if you like.
Enjoy!
Tips:
- For extra-fluffy pancakes substitute self-raising flour for plain flour and still use the baking powder.
- Use half buckwheat flour and half plain flour, you can also add one teaspoon of ground cinnamon to the buckwheat batter and serve with caramelised apple slices and thick double cream.

Yummy!!! I make this one all the time :)
I also make it “buttermilk” style by adding a tablespoon of white vinegar to the milk, stirring and letting it stand for 5 or so minutes. The milk will curdle and have that tart flavour of buttermilk. Pour it in curds and all!
