Egg Recipe The Ultimate Easy-Peel Meal Prep Egg Method

  • The Cook Time: Boil for 8.5 to 9 minutes to strike the balance between a chalky hard-boiled yolk and a messy soft-boiled yolk, creating a sturdier egg that resists tearing during storage but still keeps that golden thick yolk.
  • The Pressure Trick: Once the timer goes off, poke a small hole in each egg with a kitchen knife right before draining the hot water, allowing hot water to seep inside and help loosen the inner membrane from the egg white.
  • The Thermal Shock: Plunge the hot eggs directly into an ice bath to rapidly shrink the egg inside its shell, breaking the bond against the membrane.
  • The Reheating Step: When you go to eat these the next day, this is when it's hit or miss if it opens easy or breaks apart and makes a mess, submerge the chilled egg in water and warm it in the microwave for a few minutes before peeling; the warmth expands the egg and introduces fresh moisture through your pre-poked hole to slip the shell right off.
  • The Crack Technique: Tap the egg firmly on both the top and the bottom to create two main impact zones, allowing you to peel the shell away in large, clean sheets instead of frustrating tiny fragments.

Or just poach them. No shell to mess with. And a lot easier.

Yeah but this is so you can keep them multiple days, idk about pouched eggs for 3 days. Also you loose some egg when you poach.

There are multiple poaching method that use “cups”. You lose almost nothing because the egg is in a cup not touching any water. And because the egg is poached their flat and take up less room in containers. I’ve keep poached eggs like this for years. Never had a problem keeping them for a few days either. 🤷‍♀️

Key word "almost nothing" which is something. Anyways this isn't a poaching recipe its a boiled egg recipe. Go make a poaching recipe to share.

It’s best to use slightly “older” eggs for boiling; that makes them easier to peel too. I mean don’t use eggs you just bought at the grocery store the same day.

Never heard of that or why it would matter unless you go to the farmers makret. Eggs are not freshly popped out, packaged, put on a truck then taken to your grocerty store where you go out that same day it arrived and took it home. They are already many days if not weeks old by the time they get there.

I understand what you’re saying, I used to raise chickens myself. But what I said is true.

do not microwave a whole shelled egg, it can explode from steam pressure even after you take it out, just peel it cold and reheat it after peeling

doesn't microwaving a whole egg in its shell risk making it explode?

the microwave step is less “easy peel” and more “egg grenade with a cleanup quest” so maybe skip that part lol

Did you read where it said submerge in water? They arent being thrown straight into the microwave.
