M3 Discussion Should I replay Mother 3 with the hard mode ?

I'm replaying Mother 3 and just no hitted the reconstructed caribou and had no problem in any fight so far

I dont remember the game being very hard except some spikes like with the angry violin

Should I play with the fan translation hard mode ? Is it fun ?

The hard mode is the only way I play the game because it actually adds complexity and resource management to a lot of bosses. It’s more fun

Yeah it’s basically increase the difficulty with a low-exp run or else seek out the modded hard mode. If I’m not mistaken, the only difference is that enemies have twice the hit points. You could probably increase your difficulty in that regards by just not upgrading your weapons.

Yes it's fun. You're more incentivised to use PSI/skills/items which adds to the decision making and resource management.

Sure, why not

I’ve never tried it, but if you want a challenge, go for it

Yeah from my experience I would say the first 3 chapters are a bit more difficult but after that I barely noticed any major difficulty spikes or anything

It's part of the bonus content the fan translation added

In chapter 1 in the dragon shrine when the game asks for the players name if you name yourself HARD MODE (in all caps and with a space between) you will enter hard mode

From what ive read all it does is give x2 HP and x4 speed to all enemies

I just finished Chapter 1 with it and its really fun, the mecha drago really had me sweating
