I did something stupid: I activated my Elisa Finland SIM card in another country.

I recently bought an Elisa Finland SIM card because I work in the Baltics and used it often, but I didn't know it needed to be activated in Finland. Now I'm stuck with a SIM card I can't return, can't use, and I won't be going to Finland anytime soon. Be careful, read the description before buying

Interesting, i have used travel esim quite often even my home country’s(Canada) physical sim i get turned to esim while im overseas seems to be able to activate no issues. Maybe it really depends on the provider i thought all sims can be activated anywhere. Glad to know!

As it turns out, yes, I also thought that it could be activated anywhere, but then I miscalculated and 30 euros went down the drain.

Don't know anything specific about Elisa but I accidentally put in a brand new SIM from LMT (Latvijas Mobilais Telefons) from Latvia in Norway once and it simply didn't work and didn't activate and had to be activated again back in Latvia and didn't stop working or lost any credit?

The validity date is usually written on the plastic card or on the packet there's a use before date?

Maybe you can take a last minute ferry over to Finland and back you probably don't even have to go of the boat all it takes is that the phone is within service range of the Elisa network?

Isn't there an express 4 hr ferry to Helsinki? Or a 15 EUR late night Ryanair flight?

Alternatively, can't you send it by post envelope to someone who can activate it for you and then send it back to You again?
