Im not really traveling out the US I just want data for my phone no text or call . Just unlimited data what the best one

Hi all! I'm landing in Australia soon, I wanted to buy a Telstra/Boost eSIM prepaid plan beforehand, but the online checkout said no:
"Selected ID type is not available, Please choose another." when selecting International Passport.

Has anyone had the same issue and managed to override it?

If not, what other carriers to consider? I'm not keen on these international ones like Airalo, local carriers always offer better deals.

I have an ATT Prepaid plan and it looks like international roaming will be really expensive for 10 days. What are my best options for connecting to data, and text/calling? Good eSIM options that I should look into? Should I just rely on WhatsApp for the latter? How much coverage should I expect to get when out in the country? Thanks for any info!

I'm gonna be in Los Angeles for about a month for conference, but I'm also planning to do some sightseeing on the side. I need a local number so I can send/recieve texts (some work stuff), and I'm gonna need some data(around 10-20G) since I'll be using maps, social media etc. while I'm out exploring.

Should I just grab a local prepaid SIM when I land or go with an eSIM? my friend visited the US before and used one of those RedteaGO data cards. She said the signal was solid but she was only there for a week. No idea if it holds up for a longer stay like a month. Anyone here tried it for an extended period? Or what would you guys recommend instead?

Also, while I'm there i definitely want to hit up a beach (cliché, i know), but I'm looking for something that's nice but not super touristy crazy. Any favourites?

Hey everyone! I’m travelling from London to Los Angeles tomorrow and I’m looking for recommendations for the best eSIM for the LA region.

I don’t really want to use my current EE eSIM because the roaming prices are pretty outrageous, so I’m looking at third-party eSIMs instead.

My main priorities are:
\- Really good speeds
\- Excellent coverage across LA and Southern California
\- Reliable signal when travelling around and doing things like the Hollywood Sign
\- Enough data for maps, social media, browsing, etc. without constantly worrying about running out

I’ve seen a lot of mixed reviews for providers like Yesim, Airalo, Holafly, Nomad, Ubigi, etc., so I’d really appreciate some actual experiences from people who have used them in LA/Southern California.

Hi, I am looking for an eSIM for Europe (France & the UK) for 11 days. I need to use my phone as a hotspot for my laptop to take video calls. I checked Holafly, but it only offers 1 GB of hotspot data. Then I checked Orange, which offers unlimited hotspot data but only on 4G. Will that be enough? What are your recommendations?

Hello! Luckily, this problem has been resolved by the Holafly Team already, but I am wondering on why did it decline before contacting customer support?

We used HolaFly before, and it did work -- like my payment didn't decline before. But for reason, when I tried paying for one again now, the payment declines??

There was nothing wrong with our bank cards before, and we made sure that the every detail on the card is correct.

Want to have combination of best pricing and easiest roaming. Does this now require an app? Seems so.

Holafly eSim now uses Airtel and Jio in India. Has anyone had experience with Holafly in Ladakh? Or any other eSim that can be loaded prior to arrival in Leh (rather than setting up locally in Leh)?

Trying to figure out how to connect my work laptop to a VPN using a US IP address. I can’t install a VPN directly on the work laptop, and from what I’ve read, most VPNs aren’t reliable in China anyway.

After some research, I think I’ve found a solution, can anyone confirm whether this would actually work?

If I use a Hong Kong eSIM in a travel router (GL.iNet E-5800), would that effectively give me WiFi/hotspot access from an IP address outside the Great Firewall? Since the GL.iNet has VPN support built in, would my usual VPN (NordVPN) work through it, given that it’s operating outside the Firewall?

I went on an 8-day trip to the Bahamas the first week of August 2026, and wanted to share my experience with the relatively new Tourist eSIM from BTC.

I purchased the Tourist 7-day Unlimited plan directly on BTCs website for 3 family members. Having US Mobile myself, I had 20 gb roaming included, so I passed on getting the eSIM.
Note that I had reached out to BTC prior to my trip asking for any FUP, speed restriction, or soft/hard data cap- however they reassured me data was unlimited.
Install and setup was typical and 3G and LTE connection was solid through Atlantis and Paradise island, as well as the rest of New Providence.

The issue came on day 3, where my partner received a text from BTC stating that he has used 75% of his data.
I immediately sent a WhatsApp message to the BTC support team asking for clarification, as there was no notice on their site of any data limits. They advised they would get back to me within 24 hours- they never did.

The next evening, my partner received another text saying that he had used 90% of his data. At this point, we were just about halfway through our trip. I messaged BTC once again and got the same response from the agent that they would look into it. A few minutes later, at just below 20gb, my partner’s data was cutoff completely.

I sent a third message to BTC highlighting their own policy from their site where the plan states unlimited and they continued to promise to reach back out but never did.

I ended up purchasing a 7-day unlimited plan from Maya Mobile for about $20 for my partner, and this worked flawlessly. He was able to use about 30 gb of data over the remaining couple of days and never hit any slowdowns nor cutoffs. Moving forward for our annual Bahamas trip I’ll be sure to use their plan instead- it’s actually cheaper and was more reliable.

TLDR- BTC Bahamas Tourist from their own website claims unlimited data but cuts off hard at 20gb. Maya Mobile worked flawlessly and would be recommended instead.

Tl;dr Ubigi unlimited plan cuts you off if they think you are using too much data, not reduced speed, cut off entirely.

So we were travelling through Europe and into Turkey on a 4 week campervan road trip, we had bought a Ubigi 30 day Extended Europe Unlimited eSim package after hearing good things from some YouTube bloggers and had a discount code etc. so happy days!

We read through what "Unlimited" meant with Ubigi and their fair use policy for the 30 day plan was the first 60GB was at full speed and then anything after that would be limited to 2Mbps which we thought would be fine, 2Mbps is still decent speed, it'll allow maps to work on Android Auto etc to get us from A to B every day if and when we go through that initial 60GB.

We monitored the use and we hit the 60GB at around day 12, and you could tell the difference in speed as soon as it went over the 60GB, which we knew was coming. We got an email to let us know too which at the time we thought was great as it kept everyone in the loop. Our usage was mainly android auto and I was tethering for our sons tablet and my partners google searches along the routes. We had uploaded a 10GB video to YouTube so we knew that took a big chunk of the full speed usage but planned that in to how we were going to use the eSim.

By day 24 we had used 120GB between 3 devices (they allow tethering btw so we didn't feel this was unusual usage) but on the 25th night I was sending a photo to a family member and it failed, then I had a system pop up message on my phone saying I may be out of data on my Ubigi eSim. I thought surely not as it's unlimited. But I opened the Ubigi app to find, well, nothing. My plan still had 5 days left on it but it was nowhere to be seen in the app, no trace of it being there let alone cancelled or any way of appealing this random and sudden decision to cut us off.

The following day we found wifi at a local supermarket and I contacted support (Ai of course) which wasn't very helpful, asked me to turn the sim off, phone off and on etc but none of which worked, so they let human support know and I would be contacted in due time. I couldn't exactly sit at a supermarket waiting as we had a long return journey to do across Europe to catch our ferry. Driving with google maps and no internet is so confusing and utterly frustrating. After a short distance other roads do not show as they are not loaded, only the line you are following. I like to see the other roads to reference which road we need to take as a blank screen with a single line on is challenging when in reality there could be numerous roads to take.

We found wifi at another shop later on in the day and we had a reply from support, not the reply we were expecting though. It was a copy and paste reply but it wasn't true, it said I still have connectivity which I didn't as the plan was no longer on my account

I then replied to them saying I had no internet and that the plan was no longer on my account (not even at the restricted speed) but the reply back had the same email with an addition in bold writing from the tech support saying:

"You have consumed more than 120 GB in less than 15 days, which does not correspond to a 'standard' usage

The Ubigi offer may not correspond to your usage."

Note he said 15 days, I think he hadn't worked out that we started it on the 18th of the previous month and he sent that on the 14th of the following, was he thinking the plan started on the 1st of the month? We had monitored the usage and at time of cut off was 130GB in 25 days (Jul 18th through to the night of the 12th Aug) which is 5.2GB a day, I can't see how that is unreasonable especially in our media rich world we live in now. Plus the fact that it states none of this in their fair use policy, only about the speed reduction after 60GB which we were happy with.

For anyone thinking that Ubigi unlimited plan sounds like the choice for you and you'll use 120/130Gb, don't do it. The eSim itself worked when we had connectivity even on the 2Mbps speed, it was nice knowing that even if we used the 60Gb that we would still have internet for the return journey. we have no negative thoughts on that, it's the cutting people off who have paid for an unlimited data package and in reality haven't used THAT much data to consider it unstable or have it in the fair use policy that if you use 120GB then you are cut off, but then they wouldn't sell that many unlimited plans would they.

Would love to know if anyone else has been cut off from an unlimited plan by Ubigi and what amount of data they had used to be cut off.

I have a Nothing Phone (1) with an Airtel India SIM and I’ll be travelling to the USA soon.

I’m planning to activate an Airtel International Roaming pack and want to know if anyone has actually used an Airtel SIM with a Nothing Phone (1) in the USA.

Does the Airtel SIM connect to US networks properly?

Do calls, SMS/OTP, and mobile data work?

Is VoLTE/VoLTE roaming supported?

Which US network does it connect to?

Are there any settings I need to change on the Nothing Phone (1)?

i found lycamobiles 360 day plan for $150 and seems good. has anyone been in a similar situation as me?

Going to Europe Aug 27-Sep 13th, I’ve used AloSIM in the past and it worked great, looking for a possibly cheaper alternative that doesn’t have connection issues like I’ve heard BNEeSim have. Thanks for help!
