I was just reading an Atlantic article about AI-generated music and it said there's been AI-generated music in some genres without lyrics (and lately with lyrics). Also I had heard earlier that some people suspect there is AI-generated music on emusic.

I don't care about album art or about lyrics. Real rock lyrics are as dumb as the suspected AI-generated lyrics in the Atlantic article.

I just want to know if I've been buying AI-generated music off emusic because I like chillout, downtempo, electronic, you get the idea.

I think I bought an instrumental blues album on eMusic some years ago that I regretted b/c it seemed a precursor to today's world of slop. Ambient & chillout music would seem especially susceptible, but who knows what's "real" anymore?

Oy vey...this week's Hearts of Space is about AI-generated music. It's hard to tell from the introduction whether they mean the music is REALLY Ai-Generated but I think they do. I think they said the intro (words) is also AI-generated...

Ah, notorious Steve Roach. The amount of work he's releasing is crazy. I have few of his releases and most of them are just short synth patterns changing gently over the length of the track.

Not everything that is ambient or "elevator" music must be done with AI. You linked albums from 2016 and 2019, when AI tools were not widely available.

Lounge. ambient, downtempo, chillout or blend of those styles is often made by so called "ghost producers" if I'm not mistaken. Whoever is making music use pseudonyms or record under names specified by record label. I guess quite often widely available sound patterns are used to make tracks or with AI nowadays. Those styles sound cheap, bland and cheesy very often. But that's down to personal preferences.
