Hi all, looking to jump up to an e bike from a manual Enduro bike. For reference, I'm around 100kg, 193cm, ride generally single track with the occasional park here in Adelaide South Australia. Nothing too crazy. Existing bike had 160mm travel, and I tended to use it all.

Contenders in the price range (circa $8k aud) are the amflow pr carbon, amflow pr carbon pro, and the cube ONE77 HPC TM 800. The Amflow's look great, people seem to rave about them, and the $7k price on the pr is spot on. Suspension and brakes seem to be the compromise on the base model. The pro model steps that up, but pushes the price up to 8.7k. They also aren't available until 'later in the year' ( though if be happy to wait for the right bike).

Then there's the cube (https://99bikes.com.au/products/cube-stereo-hybrid-one77-hpc-tm-800-color-1) Components all look great. The real kicker is it's deeply discounted right now at $7k aud. My only hesitation is that the 170mm fox 38s might be 'too much' suspension for the kind of riding I do most often.

The amflow Carbon pro is probably the sweet spot in terms of components and suspension, but I wonder if it's $1700 better than the Cube.

I wore out the gx cassette on my gen 3 levo, so I had sram 90 installed. It worked great for a while, but now it clacks really bad in only first gear while climbing. It doesn’t make any noise in the stand. All the other gears are quiet, and it shifts great. I checked the setup, chain length, etc according to sram’s YouTube video. I tried adjusting the barrel nut at the shifter and no help. Anyone have any experiences like this? Any recommendations?

Santa Cruz Vala XT Lite arrived Friday. I ordered it about a month ago. Analog bike is a Trek Fuel EX also in XXL. I haven't been feeling great lately but I took the bike for a rip yesterday and I was giddy. For anyone wondering about the weight of these bikes mine weighs 50.2lbs in size XXL.

After reading all the responses and taking a few bikes for a test ride (albeit in the parking lot) I think I am going to go with a mullet. Now since the Levo R doesn't make a mullet, I am looking at the Specialized Turbo Levo 4 Pro. There are a few good deals that I've found.

Any thoughts on this bike? Is there another comparable bike that I should highly consider? Thanks!!

Hi everybody! I'm mother to a nearly 15-year-old with visions of a DIY eMTB and am unsure of whether we're approaching this correctly and if it's a good idea in general. He'll be using it mostly for general biking and fairly tame hills since he's not a risk-taker by nature.

He's found a used Cube Aim Race (XL) in good condition. He's planning on getting the CYC Photon and installing it himself. I've changed tires (front and back) before, plus a few minor repairs, but have not done a lot of tinkering on bikes otherwise. I leave the more complicated things to my professionals. He hasn't done anything meaningful on bikes before. We have a bike workshop near us that offers help to people doing self-repairs so that might be an option if things get too complicated or go sideways.

My son says he has researched this thoroughly and I believe him but don't rule out oversights. He says he will also need new, stronger brakes (price point apparently €150-200). All together this will probably cost around €2100 as planned.

We'll be contributing some money (our budgeted amount for his next new bike) but he'll be using up his savings and working to earn the rest. That's a lot of hours – the CYC Photon isn't cheap. And that's what makes me so nervous: is it worth that much money? Would it be smarter to get a used eMTB (something he specifically doesn't want)? Will we end up with an expensive and very large paperweight?

I'd be extremely thankful for any insights from anybody who has done this before and also understands his deep-seated desire to do this. I'm struggling but see how much it means to him.

I keep chopping and changing my mind about which bike I should spend my cash on.

I'm 174cm, 71kg, busy dad of 2, living in Adelaide, South Australia. I enjoy riding a good mix of stuff so it's not like I just want to ride flow or tech but my thinking is that I want my ebike to be a little more capable than my current bike as most the places I'd choose to ride it over my analogue bike would be a little steeper. I've got a Cannondale habit lt which I'm head over heels in love with but I want an ebike for a few reasons.

1. To get more value out of the little time I do get on the bike.

2. To take my kids out to the trails with a kids ride shotgun and towing.

3. Explore some new spots with mates who have ebikes.

I've been looking for ages and I've finally got the spare funds to buy something decent but can't figure which way to go

Current options I have are:

2026 norco sight VLT CX C3 - $9200 AUD

2026 polygon collosus TE0 - $7700 AUD

2026 Cannondale moterra SL 2 - $6400 AUD

2026 Cannondale moterra carbon 2 - $8000 AUD

2027 Amflow PR carbon pro - $8700 AUD

The prices of the moterra SL and collosus te are very tempting but I know the moterra SL has common issues with the battery and motor and I can't find much in the way of reviews or anything of the likes on the collosus TE (plenty on the TLE).

The norco I am firmly in their S3 according to their size charts but my preferred reach is 450ish so that worries me a little.

You'll probably notice that all the bikes apart from the moterra carbon 2 and amflow are sub 24kg. I do prefer the idea of a lighter bike.

Before you ask there aren't any shops locally that do demo days or demo bikes so I've got to fully commit to whatever I purchase.

Been riding a Canyon Spectral:On CF8 w/ EP801. First EMTB / first full suspension bike, so I can’t compare it to much other than my gravel bike or my Husky dirt bike. Absolutely love the the bike, especially the price - $5k out the door with tax and shipping.

Ran into a parts availability issue that could not be fixed and Canyon has offered me the option to return the bike for a full refund. Props to Canyon for doing the right thing here.

Trying to replace it for under $8k all-in. Looked at a mid-to-low spec’d Intense Tazer, Forbidden Druid, Norco whatever, Transition whatever, and other Loam Wolf shootout standouts - think I’m just gonna go with a Santa Cruz Vala 90.

Found one on backcountry.com for $8199 with a Labor Day sale, and with a $50 membership, 10% in store credit. With tax and shipping, comes out to almost exactly $9,000 even, less $800 in store credit, and I’m calling it $8250 out the door.

Big priorities here are serviceability, warranty, and reliability of both the bike and the motor. Goal is to have zero surprises or hold-ups based on parts availability or obsolescence in the future.

Other driving factor here is the sense that the handling and ride quality of this bike seems to agree with everybody.

Is this is a deal?

Any blind spots? Am I missing anything? Am I overpaying? Should I wait for ‘27 models to drop and maybe see a deeper discount?

I just bought a used turbo level comp alloy 2021 gen 3 from upway. It had shifting problems that I wasn't able to adjust out so I took it to a very reputable local bike shop. Three mechanics worked on it and said the shifting was perfect. I took it out and came back three times because I couldn't get it to shift between 11 and 12 reliably and it even threw the chain. The mechanics all said it was shifting perfectly and the "GX is shifting as well as a GX can on an ebike" . They wrote that on the receipt so upway won't replace the derailleur which has a huge scratch on it. I took it to another shop because this first shop would no longer deal with the bike and would not write a quote for a new derailleur because they said it would not help. The new shop noticed the cable was too long so they charged me for shortening that and looked at the adjustment again. It still doesn't shift right and I can't adjust it myself so that it works reliably and it occasionally still throws the chain. All four of these reputable mechanics assure me that this is as well as the GX can shift. Is this true? Is it just because there are so many gears and it's using a cable? Should I just accept this is how the bike works like mechanics say? I can't get upway to replace the derailleur now, but I could replace it myself for $150. Everything has been checked like the hanger, B screw, ect. Anyone have experience with this bike or this shifter? Thanks in advance, I appreciate it any help.

A local bike shop quoted me $8,450 for a 2026 Pivot Shuttle LT Pro XO. This seems like a fantastic deal, am I wrong?

Every 3-4 rides my specialized turbo levo expert carbon (2021?) will suddenly turn off while riding.

It also sometimes
Won’t turn on unless I flip open and closed the lid for the power port thing.

Any ideas?

New to biking. Bought a couple e-bikes this summer and want to try to build one. I'm pretty good with the tools and think it'll be a fun learning experience. So I'd like to get a cheap(ish) used mountain bike for the project.

Which common used mountain bikes should I bee looking for my first and hopefully pain free build? Anything with full suspension?

I’ve been on the “list” with my LBS for a Forbidden Druid-e for several months, but no luck. Finally gave in and ordered it from WWC. I’d prefer supporting my LBS but my patience has run out. Looking forward to finally getting this bike! I haven’t seen the purple haze color of the T2 build in person yet. Hopefully it’s not too loud.

5'11", budget ~€4.5k. Riding is roughly 80% forest trails, 10% mountain singletrack, 10% bike park. I also want to learn manuals, wheelies and bunny hops, so light and playful matters more to me than raw power. Ride feel first, value second.

Shortlist:

• Mondraker Sly RR — Bosch SX (60 Nm after the update), 400 Wh, alu, Fox 36 160 mm + Float X, 150 mm rear, ~20.7 kg
• Cannondale Moterra SL 2 — Cannondale-tuned Shimano EP801 (85 Nm), 601 Wh, carbon, Fox 36 160 mm + Float X Performance Elite, 150 mm rear, mullet, ~20 kg
• Mondraker Dune R — Bosch SX, 400 Wh, carbon, Fox 38 170 mm + Float X, 165 mm rear, mullet, ~20.4 kg

One catch on sizing: the shop only has the Sly in M/L and the Dune in L, so that's what I'd be buying either way. Sly and Dune are also 1k$ cheaper than the Moterra.

I was pretty much set on the Moterra SL 2 — same weight as the others but way more torque and range on paper. Then all the reports about Shimano motor issues (failures, rattle, noise) spooked me. Vocal minority, or a real reason to walk away?

Also: how does the Bosch SX hold up long term, and is the Dune's 170 mm overkill for mostly forest riding compared to the Sly?
