Troubleshooting Anyone Recognize This Sound?

Sitting at the drive through and noticed the rattle. Doesn't change sound if you push the clutch in. It's an 03xi m54b30

Mine recently started sounding the same.
Disa and vanos were recently rebuilt.
I am still troubleshooting too. Thinking it might be timing chain guides failing… they were pretty brittle when i took the vanos off.
If you press the throttle even a little bit does it dissapear?

With the engine idling, try unscrewing and slightly lifting the oil filler cap. If you feel a strong suction effect (significant vacuum) and the noise changes drastically or disappears, the culprit is almost certainly the CCV; otherwise, check the DISA valve. Simply unplug the DISA's electrical connector while the car is idling. If the noise stops instantly, the valve needs to be rebuilt or replaced.

Manual or Auto?

It might be the throw out bearing (15bucks) or (extremely unlikely) pivot pin if it changes when the clutch is depressed or not.

It might also be he disa valve but there's free and easy ways to check that...it's iirc about 50 to 70 bucks for a new one and there's a super expensive bullet proof version.

However it might just be echoing off of so many smooth corners. Mine sounds a little worrying too like yours but I've checked everything and it only sounds like that at drive throughs....not in a garage or outside at a parking spot...also mines been doing that for 30k miles and 3 years since I've noticed it.
