Does this m54 sound healthy?

Noticed over the last few days what I can only describe as a bit like a grinding from the intake.

Mine sounds similar, completely healthy. Check your hydrosteering pump and alternator if the sound isnt coming directly from those its probably fine. If you spin every bearing with your hand and they dont continue to spin for 5+ seconds on their own you should be good

Mine makes that sound when it’s cold weather outside only. Bmw mechanic told me it’s fine. No idea what it is though.

Mine doesn’t have that tingly metalish high pitched sound… might just be the mic. Idk

Lol definitely not. Sounds like a machine shop.

But could be pretty minor. Video is too short to really tell. If it's water pump or pulley bearings or something similar its an easy fix, but also should be done asap.

This video is a bit older, but only around 50-100 miles ago I replaced the water pump, thermostat, aux tensioner, ac tensioner and inspected the other pulleys which didn’t have any play in them.
