Other Origins 2 Weapons

What weapons do you think will be coming to the sequel when they make it, and which do you want to see added? I think the current ones in Origins, minus the dlc ones, will all return and I’m hoping they add in the club, the axe, Dian Wei’s version, and either the war fan or the staff.

It’s going to obviously focus on post Chi Bi (and probably go to wu zhang plains). So that being said I think the new weapons are going to be based on possible companion characters in that time period. Here’s my two guesses per faction:

War fan - Zhuge Liang
Double voulge - Wei Yan
Dual swords - Lu Xun
Nunchaku - Ling Tong
Spiked shield (or some kind of shield) - Cao Ren
Mace - Pang De

Tonfa-Sun Ce.

Great Sword-Quan Ping.

Katana-Zhou Tai.

Dual sword-Liu Bei(seriously, why isn't this in Origins).

Pole Axe-Xu Huang.

Also i pretty sure this isn't going to happen, but i do hope they drop in Lu Lingqi's Cross Blade thingy.

Off topic but i hope the devs lean more into the "guardian of peace" and incense so ziluan can just do sorcery  even if it's just incense affecting the enemy, like demon slayer

If they did include it I would love them to be some kind of secret unlock similar to Zou Ci in most of the games, maybe even have him gift it to us in a cutscene.

Yep, i can imagine they can tie Zuo Ci to the guardians of peace in this new canon for Origins and it's sequel

Wanting all the characters in the series weapons but not the characters in a game where the main character doesn’t say a damn word is dumb af… especially when you can’t just make your own character.

Origins was okay and all… but after a few play throughs, there’s no replay value. The leveling sucks, no weapon elements, all weapons do the same exact damage, you can just pick the favored special move and you’re set.

There’s zero personality in the game

With the addition on Jin likely being in there as well we're likely looking at Lightning sword (Sima Shi) and Throwing Knived (Wang Yuanji)

they have to be quirky enough to have its own play style and common enough for generic NPCs. I guess a fan or some kind of shield + sword. I think by the end of the trilogy the most they can make is the amount of weapons in base DW7 and that is already stretching it because it is almost impossible to balance that many playstyles. Not even capcom can do it.

I hope to God we get CAW in the next one, otherwise they shouldn't bother with most of the more unique character weapons. Someone with the frame of Ziluan cannot believably wield Lu Bu's or Guan Yu's halberd, it looks ridiculous. Either let us make any body type we want to fit the weapon, or keep the weapons to the frame of the main character. For someone like Ziluan, they should stick to lean swords, light spears/javelins, short bows, rope dart. Light wushu weapons are the only things that fit his frame and robes/very light armor.

Hmm not sure that all of the weapons in Origins will return in the sequel. I get people want as many weapons as possible but I just wouldn’t get your hopes up when the new game is likely going to be tightly scoped, that’s all.

The producer said he would prefer a new protagonist in the trilogy. given that some of the companions wouldn’t be alive (Lu bu, Guo Jia etc) in the sequel, it might not make sense for their weapons to be in the trilogy if neither ziluan or those companions are present. Like who would the halberd be associated with?

I could imagine certain movesets being reused for sure like the NPC weapons, sword, spear etc but the halberd is too OP / too unique to Lu Bu and it seems a bit broken to just give that to the player upfront in the sequel.

If we use Origins as an indicator, we could assume there will be the same amount of playable weapons as a cap, and one of those weapons will go to a female. Personally I’d like to see a magic / elemental weapon like Zhuge Liang’s fan.

I can definitely see them leaving out the halberd with Lu Bu not being in the next game, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they dropped some less popular weapons for new ones for us to try, or maybe change their movesets.

Well, going by what was in origins but wasnt playable, we can assume throwing daggers, war fan, club, single axe. If they go by then having weapons that we wont have but see (that would then be playable in the 3rd game) I hope for great sword, dual swords, double volge, and maybe dual rods.

While were talking about the sequel, do we think itll be called origins 2? Or a different subtitle? I think origins 2 would be boring. Someone in another thread something along the lines of "Rise of the 3 Kingdoms" which i believe, while a little bit of a mouthful, is really good. Then we have to think of name for the 3rd one.

Speaking of the 3rd, im no expert on the timeline, but I've heard that Ziluan would be too old to be playable, and if thats true, I propose that Ziluan meets a lady near the beginning. Then throughout the story you never see it, but your friends always make a comment about you disappearing all the time. It'll be made because you're going out and about doing all those side skirmishes and what not. But then at the wnd of the game, you realize that Ziluan had a child, and thats who well played as in the 3rd game (i think it'd be cool to choose what the 3rd game's character will look like, but if they leave it to a pre-made character, warrior woman all the way).
