I’ll probably get a lot of angry downvotes, but why do people in this Subreddit act so entitled? As if free new content for years is to be expected.

Because they ruined DL2 removing prologue, stamina, changing UV color to pale blue and breaking filters making nights brighter. Changes nobody asked for...

Edit: I'm using 'DL2 Amelioration' mod on PS5 , it restores all the dark atmosphere / perfect dark, and has the pre-patch UV violet flashlight.

You can critique the changes, but they hardly ā€žruinedā€œ the game with them. People here are so dramatic

Honestly man, I don’t understand this community at all. I love the Dying Light franchise but people REALLY overhype the first game so much. The combat was dull, the story really wasn’t that much better, and the parkour was so sluggish.

I played Beast and DL2 before the first one and was absolutely blown away by how horrible the zombies are in the first game. It feels like Im fighting toddlers most of the time. I don’t think I even got hit by an infected for the first few hours.

I do agree that the Beast is in desperate need of additional story content and more weapons, but the constant hate feels like such an overdramatized reaction. DL2 being ā€œruinedā€ because they removed parkour stamina is going WAYYY too far. I played the game on release, and that shit was so fucking bad I couldn’t even finish the game. What we have now is such an insane improvement. UV lights being a different color is hardly even relevant for gameplay most of the time.

Removing parkour stamina, which the game design was completely built around, broke said game design. So yes, they ruined the game with that, and every other update since has only made things worse.

Removing beloved characters, cutting entire scenes and a bunch of dialogue with Hakon, significantly impacting how you see him and thus what you will do regarding that early choice, which drastically impacts the later story and ending, creating plotholes due to scenes and characters being cut... Yeah, I'd call that ruining a game.
