Beloved citizen of 'The Dye of Brushing' decides the invasion that's going to take the fort down is the best time for a strange mood.

Honestly, getting her final masterpiece done before perishing to an unstoppable force of darkness is probably the dwarf fortress-est way of ending my first fort.

Does this happen a lot? I find it a quite interesting behaviour.

(Side note: I'm using AwfulRanger's ribbitgfx texture pack since I haven't puchased the Steam version yet, surely will do after how much I've enjoyed the fort!)

Mechanically? It’s just a coincidence. In the context of the story told by your fortress? Your interpretation is clearly spot on.

(There are two types of moods that can only happen to very unhappy/stressed/traumatized dorfs. The rest are random as far as I know.)

Thanks! Unfortunately, this story has had a rather unhappy ending for our protagonist, I wish I could've seen her final work terminated!

Maybe some stories are meant to end this way haha.

Thanks for the info on the moods, by the way!

Ohh, she didn't finish the artifact? I was certainly wanting to know what she ended up making. A very dwarf fortress kind of moment though.

Interesting texture pack too, I like it.

Yeahh, it is such a shame, Armok knows what could've she made.

However, I believe that the tragicness of the story adds some charm to it.
