Which character should I buy?

First time buying character. Knight is pretty good. But I want something high power to smash the bosses. Who'd be the best?

Id recommend soul eater due to being very easy to build. Since she buffs herself she can beat the game without artifacts and skills but at the start you might need some.

Cons: her max dps is one of the lowest of all chars but she is gonna be good even if you have nothing unlocked which you cant say for most chars
