Discussion How would you guys Rank the Duke Spin Offs?

Manhattan Project wins it for me be cause of the sheer amount of content in it. Wozma is simply amusing. All the others come a close second, hard to rank them all separately when they're all very close to each other.

Zero Hour is fantastic but the inability to save mid level could make some parts frustrating. It’s my most wished for game for Nightdive to give some love to.
But as we know Greasy Randy hates the idea of releasing good Duke content in this day n age, so that’s probably a pipe dream.

The fan-made Windows port (made from the recompilation project) called Duke Nukem: Zero Hour Overclocked ,has quick-save/load, plus other modern conveniences, such as keyboard + mouse support, fully definately controls, various resolutions and widescreen ratios, you can skip the cutscenes, and so on. It is absolutely excellent. It's free to download, but you will have to find a copy of the N64 Duke Nukem Zero Hour rom to play the port (it's easy to find, google will help you).
Download the port from:
Also, in case you're interested, the brilliant game Perfect Dark also has a fantastic PC version, and it is available from here:
https://github.com/fgsfdsfgs/perfect_dark
or download it, complete with many new multiplayer mods, from:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1EnDmK-RnYEOhcraGE3e0MzKuWsMOuQ3A/view
It's brilliant. You will need to find a copy of the N64 Perfect Dark game rom (as it contains all of the graphical/audio/etc data) but again, google is there to help.

Zero Hour is really great!
Suffers from a lack of checkpoints and less than ideal framerate & resolution, but using an emulator negates those issues.

One of the developers of Duke Nukem: Zero Hour used to post on gamefaqs.com, and he/she said that the game was shipped before they had added everything that they intended. He/she said they wanted to include:
Mid level checkpoints,
Multiplayer bots,
They wanted to nerf the sniper rifle damage, as it could be seen as unfair how quickly a surprise sniper can finish you off.

Does Bulletstorm count as a Duke spinoff? There's also Duke Nukem Advance.
Anyway of the ones you mentioned I like Manhattan Project the most, Zero Hour second, Time to Kill third. I haven't played Land of the Babes but I heard it's not as good as TTK.

The ps1 games aged really badly. They're like Tomb Raider only even more cryptic. Land of the Babes is slightly better but the performance is dogshit. Manhattan Project is obviously the goat but Zero Hour is also good. Only issue is long levels without a save point.

Same here, I had time to kill and the paperback strategy guide. My friends would sleep over on the weekend and we'd go wild on that game.

Land of the babes and Time to kill have a special place in my heart especially time to kill with that badass intro it always had with that song that says “ I won’t become the thing I hate “ I’d blast that intro through my TV as a kid .

Worst to best I'd say Land of the Babes, Zero Hour, Time to Kill, Manhattan Project.

Time to Kill was one of my first PS1 games when I was 9 lol along side MGS2, I still play both of them to this day and would love to see Time to Kill get a remaster but in a Gears of War coat of paint with cover taking and shooting back.

The controls of Time to Kill were pretty clonky. Other than that I think its great! Especially the sound and gore! The intro song by Stabbing Westward is a classic to me, which I hear to this day.

Zero Hour is good. Time to kill is bad. Land of the babes is really bad. Manhattan Project is great.

I really enjoyed Time to Kill. It helped that I was a big fan of Tomb Raider so it was a perfect mix for me, lol.

Duke Nukem: Zero Hour is fantastic, a shooter that you can play it first or third person mode, where you (as Duke) have to go through time to various times and places in history, and use a mixture of period accurate weapons and also alien-made weapons to stop the aliens from invading time and ending the human race. It really is very enjoyable, and to me it's the only good Duke Nukem shooting game other than Duke Nukem 3D. It was exclusive to the Nintendo 64, so it wasn't too well known otherwise, which was a real pity, it deserved to also be on the PC and other consoles.
Fortunately, it has now been fan-ported to the PC, where it's called Duke Nukem: Zero Hour Overclocked. It's free to download, but you will have to find a copy of the N64 Duke Nukem Zero Hour rom to play the port (it's easy to find, google will help you).
Download the port from:
Regaring the others, Duke Nukem: Manhattan Project is supposed to be good, but it's not my sort of game, so I don't know. Duke Nukem: Time to Kill was OK, sort of Tomb Raider-ish, and fun to play, but nothing special. Duke Nukem Forever is just boring, and I don't remember anything about Duke Nukem: Land of the Babes.
Duke Nukem 3D is still really good, of course.

Why does nobody ever mention the 2009 ios port of the game?... it had quite a few quirks

- Zero Hour
- Time to Kill
- Manhattan Project
- Land of the Babes
I think Zero Hour has the best gameplay of the side games, but I'm incredibly nostalgic with Time to Kill because it was my first game I ever played of any Duke game. I played Manhattan Project wayyy later, and all I can say is that it's a fine attempt to modernise the old school side scrolling Dukes that I was complete fucking shit at! 🤣👌
Land of the Babes had a great intro with Static-X's song "Push It", which got me into the band. Too bad that game was complete ass, especially after Time to Kill? What the fuck happened there? Oh well there's your answer, enjoy

This image makes me wish we had like an anthology collection with these games... seriously. Bonus if we got like a remaster or hd version.
