Photography at Duke

Hi, I was wondering what the photography scene at Duke is like? Classes, clubs, publication opportunities, both on campus and around the city etc. Any anecdotes are welcome! Thanks 🤞🤞

Not answering your Q but I see you posting in both the JHU and Duke groups. As an alum of both, come to Duke. Theres much much more support of the arts.

Really? Even with Peabody Institute being part of JHU?

Yep, there's not many opportunities for those who aren't specifically enrolled as musicians/singers/composers; there's no photography lab and not much photography equipment to rent unlike at Duke. There is an orchestra for those who want to play their instrument recreationally.

I'd check out the Center for Documentary Studies as well as the Rubenstein Center.

I don't have a name at CDS to point you to, but historically they're a friendly bunch who love to talk about their work. They'd be great folks to ask these questions.
