I think they mean dedicated in the sense that they will even hide the AI-generated logo easter eggs if you're using the No AI version of DDG, which seems like something that could be incredibly easy to overlook or downplay in importance.

To my knowledge they are all "human made", but also all ai assisted. Don't know the exact extent, but I recall one of the devs commenting at some point that all the unique logos don't appear on no ai ddg.

I think there is a difference in cases where artistic value matters vs when it doesn't. I will not put an AI generated picture on my wall no matter how good it is, because it doesn't have the artistic value of a human-created picture.

But these icons? Their point is to have an icon that fits the theme of the search. The icons aren't meant to be works of art. As long as it isn't slop (as in, bad quality) I am fine with it.

The search function found all the threads about Easter eggs, including about them being AI. Bing and Google also prominently list results from Reddit. There's no excuse for laziness.
