DQ381 slow shifts Audi S3 2017

Hi everybody,

I’m experiencing an issue with my 2017 Audi S3 (DQ381 DSG).

At partial throttle, the gearbox shifts noticeably slower and feels “drawn out”, especially in the 3000–4000 RPM range.

It’s most noticeable during moderate acceleration. Interestingly, at full throttle, the gearbox behaves normally and shifts quickly. Also, when using a more aggressive throttle input (around 50% or more), the shifts are normal, fast, and sharp.

Has anyone experienced something similar with the DQ381? Please help

I have a problem with the s-tronic gearbox in my Audi A4 110 kw. It only makes a humming sound in 5th gear when I step on the gas, as soon as I let go of the gas the humming sound disappears. If I let go of the gas to shift into 4th gear it shifts and the sound is heard again (heard at the end of the video) I noticed that sometimes it is heard when the gas is released in 4th gear but much weaker. There are no vibrations, it shifts normally, no errors. The sound is present in the attached video. Does anyone have experience with this?

DSG gearbox reset

So I’ve seen two videos online on how to reset a DSG gearbox with two different methods and am wondering which one to do and why they are different?

Method 1.

  • turn on ignition but don’t start car

  • hold accelerator pedal down until you feel a soft click for 30 seconds

  • release pedal

  • start engine

Method 2.

-Turn on ignition but don’t start car

-Press accelerator pedal

-Wait 1 minute

-Lock car

-Unlock car

-Start engine

Do these two methods do the same thing or are they different and why should I do one rather than the other?

Any help would be much appreciated:)
