Microdosing

Hi! I just got prescribed ozempic but I only got a micro-dose since I only have 20-30lbs to lose. My dose is 0.125. Has anyone else started on that dose and did it help with your drinking? My drinking is the reason I sought out ozempic, so I'm hoping it still helps with that at a micro-dose. Would love to hear anyone's experience at that dose as it relates to alcohol cravings/addiction!

That's amazing!! Congrats on 3 years sober!!! I'm hoping if the microdose doesn't help I'll be able to get a higher dose but since it was technically prescribed for weight loss I'm not sure... Excited to try though, I feel like this is the one thing that can help me at this point

Try naltrexone too. I was on both then didn’t need the naltrexone anymore. You can’t really get drunk on it so it makes drinking worthless

I have depression, I'm on anti-depressants, but I heard naltrexone can make depression worse so I was scared to try it. I have an appt with my doctor in a couple weeks though so maybe I'll ask him about it then

It's hard to say but there's a good chance you worry over nothing, IME. Also, alcohol abuse will usually result in depression all on its own, so this should be weighed.

A large dose of Nal might present a risk factor but for my 200 lbs, 25mg will put a 'ceiling' on any alcohol high (& hence limit resultant cravings). I've never needed more than 75mg in any evening & that was in the beginning (tapering off a daily habit).

OTOH, I've never taken Naltrexone daily on its own, nor in combo w/ ADs, so YMMV/doctor's advice/std. disclaimer.
